    Default Hardware definitions for newbies

Hi everyone. Is there a good explanation of cartomizer/atomizer/clearomizer/tanks/etc (explanation of what these or similar hardware terms mean) anywhere on ECF? I've been looking for a bit and can't find it. Gotta get better at the search thingy on here .

    Many thanks!!

Indeed yes. ECF has done a really good job with the ECF Library. Happy reading! There's a lot of stuff there.

I cannot find the thread anywhere, but I know it exists....

Anyways, I'll go ahead and explain them for you.

A Cartomizer is a one piece item that screws into your battery. Inside a cartomizer there is typically a white fluffy filling that soaks up eliquid and holds it. When you fire the battery, the liquid is vaporized around the built-in atomizer. Cartomizers are easy to fill, relatively inexpensive, and generally much more convenient.

An atomizer is the object that screws into the battery that heats the liquid to create the nicotine-containing vapor. You can use a cartridge (which holds liquid in afformentioned white fluffy filling) or you can just drip directly into the atomizer a few drops, attach a drip tip, and vape.

Drip tip: Just a mouth piece that attaches to an atomizer or cartomizer to give you something else to rest your lips on, instead of the cold metal tube (or in the case of just an atomizer and dripping a hot metal tube)

Clearomizer: Typically clearomizers refer to CE2 cartomizers with clear tubes, that allow you to see the juice level. There's other cartomizers that fall under this category, however, most of them are either rip offs of the CE2s or improvements.

Tanks: There's two types of tanks.

1: eGo-T tanks, which are cartridges that hold around 1ml of liquid (more for the second and third versions) which attach to a special atomizer.

2: Tanks that modify a cartomizer to hold more liquid. In the case of CE2 cartomizers, the tanks are simply larger tubes. In the case of a boge or fusion cartomizer, the tank holds juice around the cartomizer's tube, which is fed into the cartomizer through holes punched in the cartomizer. Attatched is a picture of my mod with an 801 fusion cartomizer and a j-tank, which is the second tank I described.

Sorry about that. Have a look here instead and of particular interest to you will be the abbreviations thread and the FAQ thread. The first post in the FAQ thread is pretty outdated, but there is a ton of stuff newer in later posts.

there's also the ECF wiki. I've never looked at it too close, and it might also be a little bit dated.
