Factors that appear to provoke them include stress, fatigue, illness, injury from accidental biting, hormonal changes, menstruation, sudden weight loss, food allergies and deficiencies in vitamin B12, iron and folic acid. Oral ulcers are also a common result of ceased cigarette smoking, affecting about two out of five quitters.
hormonal changes and menstruation sound like what just47 is going through ...

i know it's not the same, but have you tried using a non-nic liquid for a couple days to see if nic is the problem? else i'd say you're reacting to the PG or something else in the e-liquid. might help to narrow it down.

This condition sound serious enough that you should see a doctor. No doubt your doctor will tell you to stop smoking / vaping but I think you should seek medical advice anyway. I'm no doctor but it sounds like ulcers and your body is reacting to something, whether stress related or nicotine related, whatever it is you need to find out.

Might try checking products made by Biotene.com if you can't get to a dentist.
The products are for dry mouth and ulcerations. I take diuretics every day and use the mouthwash and toothpaste because of drymouth. My hubbie uses it and it clears up his mouth ulcers when he's under stress. Great products and dentist recommended. Think on their website you can type in your zipcode and find the store closest to you that sells it. They even have gum. Hope you feel better soon.

A while back I developed oral ulcers or "Canker sores" on my tongue and back of throat from chewing nicotine gum. Very painful while eating or just swallowing. Within 3 days of quiting the gum I healed. Oral nic is too hard on some people.

won't go away from e-smoking. Even cigarettes didn't usually keep cuts in my mouth like this. Every day I e-smoke keeps the cuts pretty much from healing or it makes them worse. There's one between my lip and gums and one under my tongue that hurts like hell when I move my mouth, drink, eat, touch it...anything! It's horrible! I have stuff that I put on them to numb them for a while but it doesn't help them heal and sometimes doesn't even work.
Any suggestions besides not vaping? It's so very annoying..
Here's something that will help just4747. When you e-smoke your not only getting a lung full of nic, your getting a mouth full too. After you vap drink something to rinse your mouth out. This will get the nic out of your mouth and not give it a chance to sit there and irritate your mouth tissue and cause a sore. This has worked for me. Good luck!

now would that be the stress caused by quitting or does tobacco smoke have a germ killing effect.. i wonder..??

Like many ex-smokers (YES!) I am sure that Trog is right, in that there are benefits to smoking tobacco that are rarely mentioned these days. However, I think a lot of these are down to nic rather than tar, toxins and the rest that you'll find in analogue. Trog - could it be the heat that helps? Or is it that smoking masks gum disease, so when you stop - voila! Ulcers, bleeding and other pleasures of the flesh? It's hard to say - but if anyone has oral lacerations/bleeding gums then medical/dental advice must come first. Vit C in LARGE quantities is supposed to help (at least 1 gram per diem).

When my old man gave up ciggies a few years back , he went through a few weeks of having ulcers and cuts in his mouth and on his tongue.

I just reckon it was from his body ejecting the toxins from the years of smoking he did. He also came out with minor Acne and he had a raging cold.
My old man never gets ill , but when he gave up smoking for the first couple of months after quitting he'd never felt so rough before. weird hah...
