That'd be an "interesting" trip once the heating element in the Ploom got switched on. "A whole new kind of vaping experience!"
They sure are pushing the "buzz" angle. They keep posting news of hip tasting parties in California. They keep not shipping the product. They announce the web site's having gone on-line (but you could get on there before it "went on-line"; was something different there once it "went on-line"? I didn't notice much that was different.) And they keep not shipping the product.
Did I remember to mention that they keep not shipping the product? Wonder WTH's going on there.
Think I'll stock up on some more e-liquid.
Still have no idea what sort of 'x dollars per day' habit that thing will turn into (IOW, how long each of those 'pods' is likely to last... in the real world).
Maybe they're spending some more time on R&D, figuring out how to make those "pods" so that the clever and enterprising modders of the ECF can't refill 'em. :-)

Yeah, sure there are. In the wax museum, maybe. "Ooooh, mommy! What's that?" "That's what Republicans used to look like, sweetheart. I know -- I think he's kind of scary-looking, too." "I'm too scared to go to sleep tonight now!" "Don't you worry, sweetheart. We had our city CouncilPersons Mr. McChe and Mr. McBeria dispose of them. They can't hurt you now..." "Mommy! You're LYING to me! That icky wax man is still breathing!"
I suppose the next thing you're going to tell me is that they have some in Berkeley, too.
<blink> Oh. Right. Ploom. Sorry. :)

If I see ANYONE that resembles Sean Hannity, I run my butt off!
It's not him that scares me, it's that haircut

Hey Mikea, fellow Sea-Town vaper
I'm with you. I think these pods and the whole thing looks like its made to be terribly expensive, and a lot of RnD seems to have gone into image on these things. Just not really my style. I'm more of DIY'er ... The pods remind of coffee pod coffeemakers that end up running your wallet empty with not much return.

Was looking at some pics from one of their "Tastings"
The device itself looks really large!

Heating e-liquid with a butane flame instead of a battery/atty sounds kind of interesting..

I agree Thornak. Thats the coolest thing about it. No batteries and its not technically an 'E Cig' ... It's a good idea for power and it redefines the device. Those are both huge pros in my book. It would be nice to just fill up like a butane lighter instead of digging for batteries.

Indeed, having been using a catalytic vaporizer for many months now, its lovely. There are drawbacks, they are not instant on/off like an ecig. They take time to warm up and cool down. They are noisy too. IMHO its worth the drawbacks for all the benefits

It sounds like a device like this could be made lighter, longer lasting, and more reliable than an electronic ones. no more dead attys, wicking problems, or waiting to recharge batteries! Plus the flame could heat up e-liquid (or maybe e-gel pellet?) to produce much more vapor with a lighter draw.
I think someone should start working on this idea to work with current e-liquid. The Plume device looks like a good idea but it could definitely be improved on..
