PG = Propylene Glycol
VG = Vegetable Glycerin
VG tends to create more vapor

Also VG will sweeten your vapor while making whatever flavor you're using more subtle. So, PG better for flavor, VG for sweetness and vapor. VG is thicker and may need thinning while PG's thin as is.

Can I thin it with tap water? Or does it need to be sterile, distilled or whatever?

Best to use distilled, but you could use tap I suppose. You wouldn't need much. You can also use high proof liquor such as Everclear and it will boost the throat hit a little.

try the Humco brand from walmart, its in the aisle where you will find calomine and betadine and band aids. dont let that scare you though, its the same stuff i and alot of vapers use. if it does scare you then go to a hobby lobby or michaels and get a bottle of Wiltons glycerine, its used to thicken frosting but it is the same stuff! if you want to go to a healthfood store i believe its called the NOW brand. either way like i said its the same stuff. i use it to cut down my high strength liquids and add more vapor and i use it to mix my own liquids. hope this helps!
