Thumbs down The real impact of the FDA's smear campaign

So here's the deal, up until the fda's news blast we were a growing company 2 kiosks 7 employees and growing, growing, growing. The sky seemed to be the limit. Fast forward 6 weeks. sales down 40% one kiosk closing. I now have to lay off 2 employees both of whom are single mothers, for both of whom our little stores were the only income. Both of these people worked hard and did everything right. They made no false promises. No health or carcinogen or cessation claims. They showed up to work on time. They are good employees and nice people.

So congratulations FDA! You succeeded in putting two single mothers out of work so that you can continue to line your pockets with the BLOOD MONEY from big tobacco and big pharm, all while encouraging millions of americans to poison themselves. I hope this is a proud day for you, our public health watchdogs.

I know what hatred feels like. It doesn't feel good...

I just won't completely get started about our lack of voice or information. How can we have a democracy whith out an informed public? There are almost zero reliable sources for news. All media is so driven by profit that we can't know what to believe anymore. I am very sorry to hear this Mac. I hope your company can survive. Let us know if you decide to go online. I would buy from you just to spite the government!

    Thank you both.

No plans to go online, as it defeats the primary focus of our business model.

I hope this story puts a face on some of the people our governments malicious media attacks have hurt.

    Update:

2 more employees laid off. That is 4 honest hard working people put out of work by the fda. I really hope they are pleased with themselves.

Do you think the FDA, Big Tobacco, Big Pharama, ASH, Tobacco Free Twirps, etc, care?

Nope, it's all about the almighty dollar. As soon as the gobernment figures out how to get their little cut on the deal, e-cigs will be welcome again. Granted, with taxes, etc added, figure a bottle of 30ml juice going for $40 a pop.

May as well go back to smoking the real things when that happens.

Yes I agree that about the only chance that these products will be allowed to continue will be if the government is allowed to illegally tax them at 400% like they do cigarettes. But that doesn't mean analogs are better. I for one would be willing to pay more if that meant I could enjoy my nicotine without tar. Hell even if it gave me cancer in 20 years the lack of tar makes me feel better now and that alone is worth it. Also consider the effects that the new legislation will have on analog prices. They will likely be over $10 a pack everywhere in the US within a year. If the cost of vaping tripled it would still be cheaper. wouldn't it?

we know they don't care. We know it's about money. But most people don't know that. Hell most people never even heard of an e-cig before they tuned in to the fda's newscast.

I quit analogs due to the price/tax increase this past spring. That's my protest. I'll never go back even though I'll probably never enjoy vaping as much as I do presently due to FDA intervention.
I believe they want us all to go back to analogs for the income it provides BT, BP, and Uncle Sam. I will not give them the satisfaction. I will continue vaping.

We all know that the government doesn't care about poor people. Or people that want to do their best to try to actually make it. The only people that the government will easily give money to is those little 16 year old girls that have 5 kids by 5 baby daddies, and none of them work. As soon as they walk into the welfare office, they are golden. But if a normal person wants any help, they have to go through a long drawn out process which will probably take even longer because of denials.

The government is pathetic. Don't we have a law in this country where we can have an uprising and take over the government? Why doesn't anyone ever band together and do that? Pardon me, I go crazy with my government hate and want to take over the government sometimes, I can be radical like that.

Sorry to hear about how it's going Mac.
