    BANDIT YOU xxxxER!!!

and yeah, that would be the perfect m4 PCC. it's almost like they're *intentionally* making these annoyingly inconvenient box designs just to drive us crazy!! one assembled, one charging slot, and the rest for carts/attys. is that so much to ask? it shoulda been the *first* design, as it is i think some modder's gonna have to get it right for us. a friend of mine is a metal fabricator and i'm gonna talk to him about a tall lid for my PCC. but a taller lid still won't clear an assembled 401 with the hinge at the original location, so the back would either have to be extended upward to raise the pivot point, or a sort of doggie-door would have to be cut in the front with a flap that can open to close the lid. it's not as simple as just lengthening the lid. the more practical solution would be to forego the hinge altogether, cut the top off, and use a removable top that slides over or into the original one, but that would be less elegant. we're going for Bandit's (grrrrr..) classic "100" look. that would be the gold standard.

There is an M402 PCC though. You can still charge an M401 batt but the lid will not shut completely. It charges M403 batts too though. Manual and autos can both be charged too.

    Not perfect, but still.

Will this charge the M702? Or all M series devices?

Fedor: will that 402 model hold a fully-assembled 402? how bout an assembled 403? and it will do manuals too, you sure?

i heard they were coming out with separate models for each (i'd suppose the manual model could handle autos but not vice versa).

these boxes are all pretty tall, seems like what they need is just a little empty space under the spare-batt slot to let it sink down further, then a "401" could at least fit an assembled 403, which my Vogue PCC (generic, 500-mAh, not recommended) *almost* does, but falls about a centimeter short.

i'm wondering if one of the reasons none of them (except, oddly, the 702 cases, and no, LadyD, they're not compatible, threads are reversed) seem to value the ability to fit an assembled unit is due to the propensity to self-activate while in storage, though the newer batts seem not to be as bad at that. i carry an assembled 401 loose in my purse at all times, no shileding at all, and i've never seen vape coming outta my purse . i'm figuring they just figure people want that "cig box" look and don't want anything larger than that, but i wouldn't be too put off by a slightly taller box. however i don't "carry" in my shirt pocket, i conceal it in the purse

The m702 had reversed threads from the m4xx series so I'm sure it won't charge them

susan28: I am positive that it will hold an assembled M402. I am also positive that it will charge M403 batts. It can even charge the M401 but the lid cannot be completely shut. I have personally charged both auto and manual batts on this PCC.

excellent! so the only need left unmet is an assembled 401. i can live with 402's on the road, just a lil more recharging. i prefer the look of the longer 401 though, accentuates the slimness nicely; they're very "leggy" . hopefully the upcoming 401 pcc's are just that and will fit an assembled one.

there's one other nice thing about the foam (rather than hard plastic as with the Vogue) molding of the storage holes, and that's that it'll stop there being any rattling, which can sometimes light up an auto batt. i'm shaking them in my Vogue right now and they're lighting a bit, but i have to shake it or bang the back of it pretty hard. the new batts are better than the old ones. still, anything that can reduce that is welcome. be nice if they sold replacement foam inserts so you could switch 'em out for clean ones now and then as they'll prolly tend to get gunky over time.

Many thanks on those links. Altho I wish the starter kit had two batteries.

You can always get an extra battery with your order. I would personally get a manual batt since the kit comes with an auto.
