My husband and I got our e-ciggs just over a week ago. I told everyone I work with (approx. 25 ppl) and only 4 of them had even heard of it (we even have a kiosk for them at our mall). I had all of the smokers try it and 2 out of the 6 smokers said they were going to get one, and the rest were really interested.
My husband only works with one other smoker, he showed her and she went out and got one 2 days later. The more people show other people the faster it will catch on. Every one who reads this tell everyone you know about it, even the non-smokers. I just tell them to let anyone they know that smokes to try this out.

I saw an estimate on cig smokers at 52million in the US from a ECF site... the leader of which has been in the major news stories on ecigs. I forget the name of the group. And last I looked there were 24K? that signed the petition but not sure if those were US only sigs.... Of course not everyone has signed the petition, and that everyone that signed the petition may not be a user - there's more libertarian-types that simply don't want the gov't interferring. In fact, we should be supporting the cigarette smokers too, imho. I do, even if it means helping out the tobacco companies who only provided me with a product I wanted for most of my life ;-) And I knew what was in cigarettes, and have read all the junk science on second hand smoke.

So my 50million smokers in US was pretty close. The other figures might be way off though. If 0.2% are vapers that would be 100,000 vapers. Seems about right. Might be 1million in the US by this time next year.

This fits quite closely to my expectations: Only about 1 person in 5 is aware they exist; the great majority are interested to give it a go; and the majority of those, I think, will stick with it.

I used to 'know' this but there is an estimation that representatives and senators do when they get a letter from a constituent representing a particular point of view. Seems like the ratio was 1 = 100 who didn't write or call. That can be skewed by 'seminar emailers' who are instructed to email this form letter to your congressman but I think they take that into account.
The 52million also might be 'undercounted' - some people are 'stealth smokers' and there probably isn't many non-smokers that would say in a survey that they are smokers, where the opposite might not be true and probably isn't.

I believe in my little town of 20,000 - About 2 months ago there was about 2 people who knew. I'm glad more people in my town know about them now but there is only about 200 people that know now. Man have I been pushing these things hard.

By "VP" do you mean PV (personal vaporizer) or the VP-1 and VP-2 models?
