By the strict definition presented by the OP, I would be one who went cold turkey. Yet, I also see that I have replaced one habit with another. Since vaping does occupy my mind during much of my waking hours and continues to hit my bank account, I am still not free of the smoking-like experience and/or the grip of nicotine addiction. In any event, I am fairly certain I have greatly reduced the harm I was doing to myself as an analog smoker.

I may qualify, since my first e-cig only had 1 battery and I still smoked whenever it was charging, but since my wonderful M401's arrived May 18th not a single analog has touched my lips.

I did finish the pack I had, but since then no turning back. Smoked the last one after about a week of vaping and man did it taste bad! Now I can't even stand people smoking in my truck.

My roommate and I were taking about a 4 hr drive last weekend and as soon as we got on the highway he light a cig. This ain't gonna work I said to him. Threw together another 510 outa spare parts I had along and he puffed on that the whole time and loved it.

Now I just gotta get him to buy one so he can stop stinking up the house!

I switched to e-cigs immediately after my first vape, and I smoked 1 1/2 to packs of tobacco cigarettes, for 31 years! Or I should say, I spend 31 yrs trying to quit since I first started smoking. I still can't believe how incredibly easy the transition was. And I did it with another smoker living in the house! I don't even want a cigarette. They stink, and I don't have cravings for them.

I could have NEVER done that any other way, believe me, I tried.

In the past, I would stop cold turkey and within a couple of hours I'm digging them back out of the trash can. ewww. I am someone who has gotten dressed at 3am, and went out into a blizzard, scraped ice off the car, (which had a broken heater in it BTW), and drove to Kwik Stop to get cigarettes! I've spent money for them, when I was flat broke, instead of food, Years ago, I even pawned my favorite CD's to get a carton of smokes, so I could have smokes AND pay the bills.

I just opened my package when it came in the mail, screwed the thing together, added a few drops and never looked back. I never dreamed I could everdo that. Now I've cut down to 4mg nicotine and one day I will be completely nic-free! Yay!

No withdrawls, no cranky, irritable fits, lol, nothing. One thing that really helped me, is I hated the way cigs tasted anymore, I kept lighting them up and putting them back out, saying ugh gross. Disgusting! And 10 or 15 mins later, lighting another one and doing the same thing, I was controlled by them.

It's not the same with e-cigs. I'm in control, I don't jones for it, I can take a few hits and forget about it, I go without it and not think twice. Victory is a wonderful thing. With victory comes freedom! And one day, I will be able to put the e-cig away too, and just take it out for special occasions and celebrations.

It is possible. Little by little, you can leave analogs for good! And each person may have their own ways, and maybe not everyone can goes cold turkey at first, when the time is right for you, and you're ready, you can do it!! You can leave analogs behind...and move forward with the changes of life!

I too haven't had an analog since the moment I got my PV put together. I had planned to try one after a few days to see how nasty they tasted, but I just could not make myself do it. The thought of the taste and smell of it turned my stomach, so I just kept putting it off and my son smoked the last ones I had. I figured it was silly to buy a pack just to tell myself what I already knew, that vaping is so much more enjoyable than smoking ever was.

I'll love to be on the crew, but no...

I got a 510 kit and 60ml (2 bottles of JC's 24mg chocolate), still it seems that something is missing, maybe once I get my passthrou and more liquid from other providers I'll be able to make the total switch...

I don't know if 24mg is too much or too little, I smoke 1 pack a day of malboro red, now I smoke like 5 cig per day of malboro light, but I'm still buying them... Sometimes my head hurts and I feel like a pressure in my forehead, kind of pushing down my eyes...

An analog seems to fix that feeling...

    Any advices?

Yesh, you can be a member. You took a couple of drags off of an analog for "scientific reasons", in the name of science!

toomuch- Really good story, congrats on so many months. I hope you start feeling better soon. If you ever need to talk about what is depressing you, let me know.

breakfastchef- Well, yes, we do have another habit now. But I feel that this is so much better. I will go to the doctor soon, so I am looking forward to hearing what he has to say about my PV and how much better my lungs sound. My house doesn't smell like smoke anymore, I am saving boatloads of money, and I don't crave vaping in the frenzied way that I craved an analog. So I'm alright with all of that.

Wingnut19- Ah, I still have my pack of analogs somewhere around here. I think that they are in a drawer somewhere. Kinda actually makes me feel better to know that they are here somewhere but I'm not touching them.

MickiO- I hear ya, diving for change, instead of getting a burger and fries you get a pack of smokes, driving through storms just to get to the gas station to get a pack. Phew, so glad that's over with.

P4C0- Hmm, I have 24mg as well, seems alright to me. But I don't think that nicotine is my major addiction though, I think that it's the other aspects of smoking that a PV happens to mimic. It's alright though, take your time with quitting the analogs. 5 is a lot better than what you were doing!
