I've never managed it but some people here have. I think I read a post about a over powerful steam cleaner that pushed one out, perhaps heat will help.

I guess the first thing is to find out how they are put together. Glued, pressed or what?

All the ones I've tried have been press fit. I've never had a duff atomiser and a duff battery at the same time so I haven't tried the obvious method of screwing them together and pulling hard, knowing my luck it would be the good one that came out

I have both may ask my husband to see what he can do. He can put a battery in his vice and pull on the adomizer. Let you know.

    They are Press Fitted.
Only way I have heard, is to cut the tube and push it out (gently with a Hammer) from the battery end with a rod or dowel. An old battery may work. Heating it up over a candle, or with a torch would help, as long as you dont get it hot enough to melt wires or anything.

    Default battery connectors

You know what I'd like to see? battery connector adapters. So let's say you have (like in my case, GRRR) a good DSE901 atomizer with bad batteries and a generic penstyle with good batteries and a bad atomizer. Make a connector to screw onto the penstyle battery, and have the correct threading for the DSE on the opposing side. ANd vice versa, so you could use the DSE batts on a penstyle atomizer. Kinda like plumbing adapters for your kitchen faucet. Some have internal threads, some have external you know? THAT would be very very useful. Especially RIGHT NOW IN MY HANDS!!!! Can anybody whip that up and deliver it to me in say.....an hour?????

Sounds like Barry has his first Project. (odd saying that, thats my Real name too )
Find out the screw thread of the 801 and the 901, and bottom tap a few adaptors
    Brass Cuts real easy

Just thought of something, you would need a center-pin with rubber O rings or tiny grommet for the battery connector.

you know, I think I've almost got it figured.
I got the connector off my crap pen atomizer.
the middle post has got that grommet and it moves in and out a bit. If I can scrape the paint off the side of the good atomizer, and hold that connector firmly with the middle post against the middle post on the good atomizer, I could solder the connector around the atomizer to carry current and hold it in place..........

    I'm getting the toolbox out

It would be a really fugly e-cig, but I don't care. I've got 2 more sets on order. better safe than sorry......and vapourless.

I thought about trying this, but I would expect it to just strip the threads. Ended up using a dremel tool.

The actual adapters would be easy to make, the problems come when you try to identify the thread, I surmised in another post that the thread on my 801 is M10x1mm pitch - it's actually a very rare, extra fine metric pitch - M9 x 0.75mm pitch.

Now taps and dies for this size are rarer than Rocking Horse Poop - they are available, but at a ridiculous price, i.e. - around £50 for the die & £35 for the tap.

I'm guessing that any other threads on other makes/styles of cigarette will be equally rare metric extra fine.

Now- I'm some of the people on these forums have identified these threads but, so far have shown no inclination to share that information with the rest of us.

This is why I feel we need an independent, open source project, where this sort of information can be stored - and some of the smoke & flim-flam that's being introduced can be filtered out.

So as I said, if anyone wants adapters made - send me a couple of broken components, of the type you want to be able to fit together and I'll see what I can do. (pm me for my address)

THanks for the mention of the'grommet' device in the atomiser - I hadn't even consider that something like that was incorporated - I'll have to cut an atomiser open and take a good look at what it actually consists of.

    Cheers
    Barry
