Default To clean or not to clean that is the question?

OK so I have read post after post on cleaning addys, blowing them out at night and so forth. I have been hesitant to post this, I did not want to jinks myself but here it goes.

I have a 901 and I got my husband a 510 we have both been vaping on 2 addys since the beginning of May.

We do not blow them out at night and we have only boiled each of them once. Both seam to be working fine I have only had one addy go bad and it was bad right out of the kit I got. So I have been going 5 months on 2 addys and so has my husband with very little maintenance. From what I read on the board this is not the norm or am I reading the post wrong?

I would not really bother with this post and just keep on keeping on because it is working for us but I am setting up my friend and I would like to know what is the best recommendadtion for her.

If all of this maintenance really is the best why do so many people go through so many addys?

    Thanks -G

All we can say is what's worked for us...or not. My wife has never cleaned her attys, in any way, and she's been using them with no problems since the end of June. I took my two and cleaned in hot water, soaked, dried as recommended...and they died. Now I am using one atty and have another on the way. I ain't cleaning no more!
We have the mini RN4081s so there may be a difference but from what I've read on the forums, and our experience, I'd say "if it ain't broke - don't fix it".

    I agree cliff.
My 4081's seem to be indestructible. Occasionally, I soak them in Everclear for 24 hours but that's only if they clog. Other than that, I just vape em.

Again, this works for me, and is only my personal opinion.

I don't do anything but blow mine out every night. I haven't lost one yet. Going on almost 5 months with the same two. I don't let them get dry or too hot. I probably will try washing sooner or later once I start losing them. It couldn't hurt to try to bring them back to life I guess.

i think it all goes to how much you vape, how hot they get,how long you go in between cleaning.

for my 901 i cleaned in once a week in 190 proof ever-clear soak for about 3 mins blew it out and let dry re-primmed and vaped away.

Every atty I clean goes bad in a week. When They start acting up. I just vape at 6 volts for a few mins and They start working like new. Ill never clean another working atty.

When I first started vaping, I was notorious about trying to do "the right thing". Jim Davis set me straight on the atty's. We all spend far too much time cleaning them. Since I stopped cleaning mine, I've had little to no problems at all.

I only blow mine out if changing flavors, or if I see that I'm getting some leaking at the bottom of the atty onto the battery connector. I only soak mine in alcohol when I am trying to get a strong flavor (like cinnamon or mint) out. When I soak the atty in alcohol, it is for an hour or two. I then blow it out, let it dry, then re-prime and vape.

If they seem like they're getting a horrible flavor, I will soak them in VG overnight, blow them out and re-use them. Eventually they come back around and start tasting right again. My thought is that the atty itself is just too dry and the VG soak seems to re-prime it.

I don't blow them out at the end of each night. I just leave them in my PV. No rituals, nothing special, just when the time is right, I do what needs to be done.

I use aprox 3-4ml of liquid every day mostly a 50% PG e-liquid, 30-40% VG, 10-20% flavoring mix. I vape at all the common voltages. I use 1 atty per PV, and rotate between 3 PV's. 1 PV gets the most attention, the 6V

I haven't cleaned any of my attys yet, and they all work great. All I do is blow them out on occasion.
