I've recently ordered from a Chinese supplier that has the same flat shipping fee of $15 and no minimum order of $50. But i guess the minimum order is sort of implied as most people will make full use of the flat shipping fee to their advantage.

Anyway, just wanna let u guys know that there is another Chinese supplier in the house and i vouch for their quality difference and improvement.

I am not to sure how to feel about people posting about buying directly from the maker. I understand that yes, they do sell there items as well. but you really are not getting a lower price let alone a quicker shipment.. I am in no way saying do not buy from the maker.. but more of just questioning wether this should be permitted on the forums.. as a new supplier this has me worried. David is one of the good guys and i think it should atleast be approved by the maker before it is posted.

Perhaps i am seeing this incorrectly? But if we made it loud and proud to buy form the maker then all us suppliers would be out of business.

I'm not in the US so i'm not really your target market. My opinion is that it is not as bad as you make it sound. Your location has its competitive advantage as you are nearer and can provide a much better & personalised service. Shipping cost and time is also minimised to your advantage. You also speak the same language and is much more fluent in it.

Buying from manufacturers in China is cheaper but not by much. It will be significant however, if we buy a little more. For those who are willing to wait an extra few days to a week might find it a good option. For me, i made my most recent purchase from manufacturer because I could not seem to find the same model anywhere else. Perhaps it is branded another brand and lost in my search. Even if i managed to find it, would probably cost much more. And since i bought that model, i purchased extras together with my order to save cost. I just happen to not mind waiting a week or two for my stuff but not everyone thinks like me.

What do you mean by "David is one of the good guys and i think it should atleast be approved by the maker before it is posted. "?

So you see, the emergence of manufacturers does mean increased competition but I do not think it will drive any good US supplier out of business. It will probably be good for end users like us. We have more choices now and with more competition, the quality and service can only get better. Buying from either one party will have its pros and cons. At the end of the day, we just want a good deal.

The 4072 = the 801 = the penstyle, yes....and the parts are interchangeable. The only thing with mine was I rec'd some batteries with a charger that said 4.7v on the bottom....and some batteries with a charger that said 4.2v on the bottom.

I was told I could charge those 4.7 ones in the 4.2 charger....but not to charge the 4.2 ones in the 4.7 charger because it could kill them. That's what I was told so that is what I do. Don't really know the validity of this.

Sorry can't help with the 901. Don't know a lot about those.

A number of people have told me that they could get much better prices buying direct from China. All of them have returned to buy from us as they encountered problems and hidden costs. The shipping quote they had did not include insurance and as they paid up front they stood to lose everything if the consignment went missing. Insurance trebled the shipping cost. The other sting in the tail was when they received a bill one week after delivery for import duty! That was when they realised that it was not worth the hassle just to save a coupke of quid. By all means go for it, but beware there are pitfalls.

Yes, yes they do. I've got some DSE901 and RN4075 batteries and atomisers. They are interchangeable. The RN type are supposedly hotter burning.

I am getting bulk orders from china but only with money I can afford to lose. 10 years ago we were in the computer component wholsale business. We did buy containers full of stuff from china. Having done it a few times we found it easier and just as cheap to buy from agents in the UK. During that time we learnt directly and indirectly the tricks exporters can get up to, something that seems common to most nations.
I have a couple of slight advantages, my brother in law is semi resident in china, I still have a few old business contacts and one who specialises in liasing and building relationships between UK and chinese businesses. I would still look at buying from a good european wholesaler if I could find one. Let somebody else have the hassle.
