I had almost given up on ecigs.
After months of messing around with various models, flavors, liquid strengths and smoking styles I decided to stick with a few things to better acclimate myself to using ecigs exclusively and finally putting some distance between real cigs and myself.
I decided the 901 was right for me, I found some flavors that I liked, and I decided to go with 36mg liquids, and to use dripping.
No other strength liquids seem to even touch my nicotine cravings, but my main problem had been the fact that drip smoking made me violently ill. Horrible sore throats, headaches, backaches, and nausea. Typical symptoms of OD'ing on nicotine. Tried going to lower strengths and was right back to the problem of it not being satisfying and going straight back to death sticks. Hmmm...maybe it was time to give up.
One last try...I grabbed some old spent carts and topped them up with some 36mg liquid. Fully expecting the same hellish ride I had from previous attempts I braced myself....popped one in and let it rip.
No cough. No headache. No puking. Non of the aforementioned problems. Just smooth clouds of vapor. It's been several days now, and I can finally say I've had the experience other smokers have had; I tried a real cig and it was foul. Absolutely terrible. Ahh my first ecig victory.
I don't really understand how it could make such a huge difference but apparently it does for me. Dripping was awesome on the 11 and 16 mg liquids... Odd how such a little change in the delivery could have such a dramatic effect. Maybe its all in my head. I don't know.

Either way.. Congrats on your Victory!! That first foul cigarette after eSmoking was the best feeling in the world for me. At that point I had realized that I was finally free from the cancer sticks, after hundreds of "last packs" of cigarettes.

I think Cash experienced horrible side effects that you describe, I think he stopped and went back after a week or so and all was OK. You may be similar although you had a much longer time feeling real bad. Perhaps is't some sort of PG acclimatisation thing? Who knows, good luck anaway and I hope it all works out.

I wonder if nicotine vapourises better with dripping, or if the vapour is denser or something. You might be getting less vapour and therefore less nicotine with cartridges.
Good for you anyway, I'm glad you've solved your problem.

It must kate...that's the only explanation I can think of. Vapor quantity seems pretty consistent...so it has to be nicotine.

You might have developed a tolerance to higher levels of nic too, that can happen after a while.

Congratulations, Browner. The Holy Grail is reaching the point where tobacco cigarettes stink and are distasteful. Keep e-smoking and you'll reach that point.

Yeah Phildo! Great feeling, huh?
I have experienced some of the same issues as yourself, though not as severe I think. I do believe there is some real difference between using carts vs dripping besides the obvious huge hits you get from drips. Maybe has something to do with temperature or aerosol droplet size?
Anyway, I find that whether I drip or not really depends on the device. My 901's I never drip. My e-cigar I always drip.
Glad you worked it out though
