Whoops! Meant to get 901 and accidentally got 801 - lol. Missing anything vs. the 901? (I do like it).

Hey all!

So I've been a Titan 510 user for a while now and really enjoy the e-cig, but decided I wanted something that burns a bit cooler/has a bit more flavor to savor certain liquids so was planning on the 901 due to the great feedback here, especially about how great the flavor is.

Ordered it last week and to my surprise today arrived a brand new 801 pen style (with some 901 extra carts - oops). Well, I didn't really want to return it (and I checked the order - it's definitely my fault and not there's - somehow I got the wrong kit in my cart), and it's not like the wrong empty carts are a huge loss, so I figured I might as well try it, and I actually like this. It seems to burn cooler than the Titan and so far have great vapor (not as much throat hit, but kind of expected) and quite a bit of flavor even though it's friggin long. I wouldn't want to take this out with me for extended period but that's okay as my Titan's going to be my traveling cig anyhow becaue of the PCC.

Anyways, my question is, is the flavor of the 801 comparable to what you get with the 901? IE, does it matter that I got the wrong e-cig, or am I still missing out? I'm still using the Marlboro carts that came with it as I have no extras to try yet, but the flavor does seem more pronounced to me than with the TITAN.

Thoughts?

My 801 (janty stick) is a cooler vape than the 510. I think you'll be good with the 801.

Just so you know when buying more atomizers. First you can use regular 801's, 4072's and BE112's - so that's nice ;-)

Also there are 'high bridges' and 'low bridges' and you should find out before buying. If you're into just dripping the high bridge works well but the high bridge will penetrate the cartridge where you have to shorten the amount of filler - which then reduces one of the main reasons people get 801's - largest cart (without going to a pipe or cigar) so, most opt for the 'low bridge' attys. At heaven gifts, indicate which type in the comments on checkout. TW is all low (I believe) and the 'classic Janty' is low as well as the BE112's. But again, check first.

And if you ever get a Janty Stick, you'll have 'extra atomizers'. ;-) (many mods are made for the 801 also).

I can't comment on the flavor aspect, but I own a BE112, which is a penstyle and I love it. A battery lasts me the whole day and the carts go a long way as well.

I think the flavor is better on a 510 than an 801 or 901 (having tried all 3 on my Chuck).

The 801 and 901 last longer without giving you that "burned" taste, but after starting on a 510 I find both of them to be too subtle to be as enjoyable as the 510.

I'd say the big difference between an 801 and 901 is, both can make you wonder if you actually got any vapor, but the 901 (unless you're using really high-nic juice) will never answer that question by making you feel dizzy, the way a good puff on an 801 (even at 3.7v) can.

In terms of flavor and "hit," the 901 is like a sip of whiskey and soda, the 801 is like a big gulp of whiskey and soda, and the 510 is like a big sip of straight-up whiskey.

if you already own a 510 the 901 would not make you feel improving.
the 801 will drop a sensation of flavor on your tongue in comparism.
i use both, the 510 is better to satisfy my old smoker brain, the 801 satisfies the gourmet in me.

the 901 is something in between, but doesn't do one of the jobs 100%.

My experience has been different from others here..

The 510 I have is a dry, but vapor-full PV, easy on the eyes, but sucks on batt life.
(mega's batts help)
Not too good on flavor, but very nice on the throat hit and vapor production.
Most folks really like the 510 atomizers for all sorts of mods and vaping.

The 801 is an overgrown version of the 510. Much better batt life. I get plumes of thick
vapor from mine, but again flavor is not one of its high points. They tend to weep
some liquid out of the threads when used heavily. They do hold more juice in their carts,
and are also good for dripping, but tend to get an acrid taste when run dry.
Keep them moist, and they make a great all-day vape on a pair of batts.
Appearance-wise, they are old school, and look like a 'pen in your pocket'.

The 901s I have are truly the flavor machines. Sometimes needing to be coaxed to
produce their max vapor, it never reaches the output of the 510 or 801.
But my e-liquids taste so much stronger in flavor, and with a PTB mod, last a good while.
If heavily vaped, they do tend to get hot, but cool down quickly.
When they are kept cool, they are the most flavorful of the three.
I reach for this when testing new DIY flavors. Batt life is average.
I also think the 901s are the sex ... best looking ones of the bunch.

You'll do well with an 801. Happy vaping!

I have the same experiences as you Viny. I don't know how anyone can say there's more flavour in 510 - but they are better atomizers in my opinion.

Just FYI, I'm loving the 801 - awesome flavor, vapor, and battery life. I think my Titan's moving up to my favorite cig if I want something to carry around a lot or to go out with, while the 801's great if I just want to sit, savor, and smoke without worrying about refilling a lot or charging a lot.

Still may try the 901 eventually, but this is great for now. =)
