Thanks for the confirmation, Scottbee. I really find the details of how eCigs work really interesting. I think they are technologically in their infancy; given 10 or 20 years, I am guessing there will be models out with incredible performance compared to what we have today. Probably, maybe, even in five years. Who knows what they'll come up with?

i plan on buying a protege, which u can select which adapter u like better..but what gives the hit? the battey voltage or the atomizer?
The protege has the same voltage as the 901 and 510 batts, but it has longer battery life and will hold top voltage longer and that will affect 'hit'. Since you like the flavor of the 901 already, you might go with that.
I find that the 510 enhances some flavors - tobacco based, coffee, capp., menthol, and others where the fruit flavors taste better on my 801 Janty STick and likely would be in the 901 as well.
Note to AshHole:
Flavour recommendations please
I don't say this to 'challenge masculinity' ;-) It's just my subjective observations and other 510 users' comments that certain flavors are enhanced by the heat and some are not. I really enjoy Drew's Blueberry Crumble and Banana Creme Surprise... but in the 801 not the 510 ;-)
I'd say this to anyone who holds flavor over other considerations with an ecig:
IF you've tried a few different ones, stick with the one that enhances flavor best.
IF you are still deciding, if you think that you'll like the tobacco/coffee/cappuccino/RY4 type flavors better - the 510 can enhance those well. If you're more interested in the fruit flavors or vanilla, chocolate, etc. get a 901 or 801 preferably with a manual batt so you can drip if you want.
For my tastes, that's the 510 in most cases and why my protege will have that as a default atty but I also got an 801 adapter.
With either style you won't totally lose the taste of either type of flavor - there are more reports of loss of taste in some of the higher voltage mods where the solution has been Drew's HV juice, special 'Screwdriver' juice, and double flavored juices.

"challenge masculinity" in reference to flavors totally cracks me up. Not that I'm going to go out and buy one of those pink 4075's, necessarily.
Interesting observation about the 510 enhancing certain flavors, I was going on very limited experience with the idea that it generally increased throat hit but had less flavor than, say, a 901 (I'm talking about a base configuration, as I mentioned I have no experience with mods like the protege). I will have to do some experimentation.

Did you read AshHole's post? :-)

I figure it's like food - some taste better hot, some cold... then there's pizza ;-)
