I saw one of those Smoking Everywhere kiosks at the mall was intrigued, but being the skeptical person I am I went online to do some research and found this site.

I spent hours on this site reading and decided to take the plunge and ordered myself a 510 starter kit. The day it came my husband and I both tried it and were very excited. It was different but we both thought that this might actually work.

It's been about two weeks now and I am amazed at how much I have cut down. I went from a pack/pack and a half a day to less then 10 a day! I'm hoping to transition fully and just today ordered a PCC.

I'd like to thank everyone on this forum. This place is so informative and supportive. If it wasn't for this forum I might not have tried PCs but everything I read here about people's experiences (and how I didn't have to pay $150 for one) made me think it was worth a try.

Now I'm hoping that maybe I can get my mom to try one of these...
Skeptical is good :-) Welcome! You'll get there. Hit the ecig first when you get the urge and if that doesn't do it have a cigarette and then up the nicotine in your juice. ;-)

I lurked and soaked up info for a couple weeks before I finally made my first ecig purchase. This Sunday it will be one month analog free for me. I thank you all for your help and information.

Me and my Npro are VERY happy. Today was my first day with NO analogs. I had 2 yesterday. This is day 5 I believe. I'm amazed how fast I was able to get off the analogs. I gave a carton and a half of my favorite cigs to my buddy this morning actually.

Another lurker here Love all the info on these forums. I was in all the modding forums, found the individual model discussion threads. Went with a m401 from litecigusa and happy and a clam. Been about 2 weeks now. Had a bit of a reaction from the PG actually. With forum knowledge under my hat, I knew this could be a problem, a few more forum searches later and I had a 6 pack of flavors of VG on it's way to my door! I'm loving my little 401.

I've been smoking about 5 years, hearty bali shag non filter rollies bought the ecig sort of hoping to swap the habit, but mostly looking to smoke indoors. Barely touched analog since I got my PV The only time I did was the day before my VG got here. I knew it would be getting here the next day, so I cleaned out my atty a bunch and wanted it ready for as soon as my new juice gets here Nic fit got the best of me though and I had a few drags.

As far as the OP. I may not have been a big question asker. But I'm really glad there was all the information here. Knew what to expect and what to look for. Found a good retailer. Found a good liquid. Knew what to do about juice leaking, how to refill carts. Everything. I'm trying my best to sell every smoker I know on the ecig, but the one things I make sure they know if they're remotely interested is.... e-cigarette-forum!!! A must have for noobs. And a haven for enthusiasts it seems Thanks a million vapers!

I lurked on the site for about a week soaking up all the info I could. I'm a junky for knowledge when it comes to buying something new and this site was more helpful than I could imagine. I bought a KR808d1 from V4L three weeks ago based on what I learned here and couldn't be happier. I've asked several questions after starting vaping and the responses have been awesome. I have not touched an analog since my order came in. I will be 3 weeks smoke free tomorrow.

Thanks to all on this site for helping me kick the smoke!

    Hello everyone!

This is my first post after reading most everything on this site.

I was a pack+/day smoker for 36 years, and unlike some who claim to enjoy smoking, I really never did. I tried for many years to quit with gum, patches, etc., but none of it worked for me. I was horribly allergic to the adhesive in patches, didn't like the gum, and a friend almost committed suicide with Chantix before his MD knew to tell him of that side effect. Thanks to the great posts on this site, and my determination, on Oct. 21, 2009 I started vaping with a Joye 510, and haven't had a single puff from an analog since! It's been 16 Days now!!! When do we stop counting days? LOL!

I first heard about PV's maybe a year ago but couldn't find one. Then I started seeing the SE ads, so I asked my tobacco shop if they had one, and he pulled one out from under the counter. So, my first was an SE @ $56. (cheap), and I was sold on the idea, but needed a PV that would hold more juice, so I did a search and found this site. I'm glad I first found the SE, if nothing else to help support their battles, which in turn may help all of us. I'm not pleased with the FDA, drug companies, etc. and have sent letters, and signed every petition I have found. I have also bought enough supplies to wean me off vaping.

I started smoking the horrid atty juice that came on my 510, so if I hadn't found this site, I may have quit then & there. So, my main issues have been with cart material, and I think I've tried every mod. I use a drinking straw that holds up a piece of fluval... it works best for me. I also found that I could misplace my white PV easily in paperwork, etc., so I bought a eye glasses neck thingy, which works great to carry it around my neck. The 1st one I bought was shorter, and I couldn't get it off over my head, but the Dollar Tree had a longer prettier one. I also like it 'cause I can position it at an angle downward just enough to keep the atty wet without flooding it.

A friend of mine bought my 1st SE for dripping, and another friend (we started smoking together 36 years ago) bought my 1st 510 backup set. To date, I've already saved enough to pay for my 510 start up supplies. What a confidence booster, I really have no desire for even one puff off an analog. Is anyone here from the Twin Cites (Minnesota), and how do PV's work when it's really COLD?

My family & myself are truly grateful (shocked) with my results. Thanks everyone, and happy vaping!

Last Friday, on a whim, and by way of a 'special offer' I purchased a Smoking Anywhere kit . I immediately came to this forum to read more about vaping & thanks to you guys I cancelled my S.A. order and purchased a KR808D-1 from vaporkings. I am definitely more of an 'instant gratification' person vs. a 'gadgets gal' and this 2 pc unit is perfect for me. I love it!
I love the fact that I can do it anywhere and everywhere that I wouldn't have smoked before - in my car, in my house, at my desk & even in my grandmothers house. Everyone I've asked has told me they cant smell it and it doesnt offend them in the least.
I ordered on Fri & recd on Mon (11/2) and haven't had an analog since Sun (11/1). I dont want one!
I even let a couple of friends try it and they are leaning towards buying one.
Thank you so much for such a great, informative community.

So, my question is with all of this information being given to the noobs, how many of you actually have ordered an e-cig and are using one now? The reason I ask is because a lot of the noobs seem to have an endless amount of questions, but don't seem to be creating a new post and telling everyone what they think. maybe I'm just too nosy, but I would like to know what you all got and what you think about it.

I came here, read some things and searched others (yeah for some reason, I have one of those aparently very rare machines where the search function works) viewed some video reviews, and then decided on a couple of kits.

But, this is a forum and like every forum I've visited, you have people that don't even know what a "sticky" is, let alone that there is a search option for them to use.

Like many others who have already responded, I lurked for a while reading everything I could and the more I read the more confused I became! I knew I wanted to try an e-cig but I had no idea how many different kinds there were and all the stuff about mods and dipping and dripping and DIY e-juice and pass-throughs, etc., seemed to itimidate as much as inform.

I've been smoking analogs for over 35 years - pack and a half to two packs a day and like most others I've tried to quit a hundred times - and like Mark Twain I had almost convinced myself that I tried to quit just for the sheer pleasure of starting again!

I finally e-mailed Arno at Awesome Vapor with a few basic questions and soon had both a DSE901 and a Joye 510 coming my way. I kept it simple, ordered pre-filled cartridges (all in tobacco flavors). That was nearly 3 weeks ago.

I'm down to about a half-dozen analogs a day (seems like the hardest ones to give up are the morning smokes) but I can already feel the difference (cough lessening, tastes returning, etc.). I switch hit between the 901 and the 510 - seems almost like as soon as I pick my favorite between the two that I change my mind.

My simple approach is getting less simple - have already figured out that the pre-filled cartridges are not for me and I've ordered a variety of e-juices and empty cartridges. Just placed a large order with Heavens-Gifts (attys and batteries) and with Dawn for e-juices.

I'm not free of the analogs yet but there's no turning back - just need a tad more will power. Without the e-cig I would have never made it this far and without this and other forums I would have never made any progress!
