E-cigs turned my friend into a raging a-hole
I went out with a friend to a bar the other night. We started smoking around the same time, ten or eleven years ago ( I'm 28 and he's 30). He recently bought a 510 two weeks ago after seeing the success I've had quitting traditional smoking.
We sat at the bar sharing a pitcher of beer when a couple the seats next to us lit up. My friend looked at me and whined, "Can we move further down the bar? I can't take all this smoke". Now from what I know he's been "analog" free for probably about a week, and I wouldn't be surprised to find half a pack of Reds in his pants pocket. I just sort of ignored him and continued to watch the Yankees buy another championship.
Before I knew it, my friend was lecturing and pitching his ecig to this poor couple in a way that made the late Billy Mays seem timid.
He went on and on about how great his ecig was and how he never thought he'd ever quit. How the man was trying to ban his beloved ecig. How Phillip Morris makes most of it's profits from kidnapping young women and selling their organs on the black market. Okay, I made that last part up, but he was way over the top.
I've only been vaping for about four or five months now and I still consider myself a noob to the ecig world. It really angers and annoys me when I see people who are new to ecigs or people who have recently quit take such a militant stance towards tobacco and their former smoking compatriots. I mean seriously, we all remember those annoying people who would see us light up and spew their anti smoking facts at us. Don't be one of those people.

I think you should've cross checked your buddy through a window. There's nothing more annoying than self-righteous morons who feel it's their divine mission in life to annoy the crap out of those around them. When I'm vaping around smokers, I keep my mouth shut - until one of them asks "hey, is that a crackpipe?"

Your title says it all. Raging a-hole and then some. Did you say anything to him?

I basically tried to distance myself. It became rather embarrassing to be around him.
Either I'll have to quit hanging out with him or convince him to start smoking again.

It has long been widely agreed that there is no worse anti than an ex-smoker: well, from the things I often read on this forum, I think we can now reply and say there is.......... A VAPER!
I get really annoyed and upset at all the 'anti' crap that so many vapers come out with.

Ahh, what great fun when ex-smokers turn millitant towards what was them only one day ago, I know a few and they are Smokeophobes!! They suddenly think all smokers and anything to do with cigarettes is evil but really just end up losing great friends and missing the cigarettes. In the closet they are!
I vape with my fellow smokers Lets all hug a smoker!

I got a friend who has gotten an attitude. This friend has quit smoking and rarely uses the PV anymore. The last time we got together, right off the bat, from this friend who hated the righteous former smoker, asked, "When are you going to give up that nasty habit?"
I replied, "Probably never since I enjoy it." Then added, "Did you wake up on the anti side of the bed this morning?"
Got no reply.

There's a big difference between a non-smoker and an anti-smoker. I can't stand people who quit smoking and suddenly have no empathy for those who do smoke.
My Father used to tell me "never forget where you came from because you could always go back". I live my life by those words.
