There's so much more in tobacco than nicotine! It also has MAO-Inhibitors which decrease MAO (part of the metabolic process that breaks down many substances) activity, and have been tested with positive results to "act in synergy with nicotine to enhance its rewarding effects." You may indeed be consuming more nicotine than before, but without the rest of the tobacco smoke you are attempting to replicate the wholesome goodness of a cup of fresh coffee by taking caffeine pills, yea it will have some of the desired effects but none of the extras that help make the full experience.

thanks satire, i was thinking with the 100's of other chemicals in there, some were probably having an effect on me besides just the nicotine. guess ill just have to give some time for my body to adjust. saw some posts that it takes a few days, but i did have 2 analogs yesterday, figuring ill "ease" myself off all the other crap, hehe.

Hi Jim. Yes I think the Ruyan New Zealand research at first claimed a fifth of the nicotine intake, in their next report that changed to half and in the last report they made no claims. That's my recollection anyway, it's been a while since I read the early reports so I might have that wrong.

They also say that a cartridge should last one to four days.
I appreciate that you are not feeling the same with esmoking as you do with smoking and am not categorically saying nicotine is not the answer, it might be for you. However, observations here suggest that we are getting significantly more nicotine into our bloodstreams than with tobacco. Maybe not as quickly but enough to cause illness in seasoned smokers.
We all find our own solutions so all I can do is share information I come across in the hopes that we find more informed, sensible ones.

Esmoking will not replace smoking, it is different and some people do still suffer cravings after swapping. Some of us don't but I guess it has a little to do with expectations. If we are convinced the two habits should have exactly the same effect then disappointment is more likely. To me esmoking is better and I don't miss smoking at all.

Is there a legal or semilegal way of getting a safe MAO-inhibitor to try it out with an e-cig? I mean, are they used as medical substance that can be obtained through a - letīs say - friendly urologist?
