That was a great video! Glad to see some objective reporting on this issue. I'm concerned that nicotine vaporizers could suffer the fate of the alcohol vaporizor (google awolmachine), which never got off the ground. Several states banned it as soon as they heard about it... no testing, NOTHING! (although I definitely see it as more dangerous from the outset, I don't think any product deserves immediate, unqualified criminalization).
Supposedly rational people in the public health arena have become too evangelical in their war against tobacco. That, combined with the conniving pharmaceutical and big tobacco industries, could lead to our hobby never getting a chance.
Though it's a "pipe" dream, I'd like to see the electronic nicotine inhaler become the focus of a partnership between big tobacco, pharma, and public health. If they combined their efforts, did studies, pushed the product (over cigarettes, patches, gum, etc.), even allowed advertising, cigarette sales would go to nothing in no time. I believe that, if they knew about and tried it, most smokers who live in places where there are smoking bans would voluntarily quit within about 2 years.

And I don't think or feel that they are on OUR side. I think, for now, its simply a matter of them not knowing how to say "NO" to it yet until someone finds a way to write it into the Tobacco Act and Tax the hell out of it.
Just wait, it won't be long I'm sure........

Nice to see someone as cynical as I am.
If anti-tobacco was about our health traditional NRT wouldn't be priced the way it is. If e-cigs get tagged as NRT we can expect the price to skyrocket. Our best bet is to push it as tobacco replacement or permanent nicotine replacement alternative.

Anti-tobacco consciously or unconsciously want you to suffer for your sin of enjoying what they havenīt. If they understand this can get you off cigarettes witout any pain, they wil do their best to have it killed. Witches must burn, after all. No bl**dy Chinese will spoil their grand autodafe.

That is the best report I've yet seen on our practice. As for motives or taking sides .. forget it. If they want to crucify us, all they have to do is find a "balanced" opposing view to end the piece with, a spokesperson who tears apart everything previously said.
It's done all the time. This was a great piece. And very pro us! Thanks for posting.
