    Default RN4072 v/s DES801

Ok are these the same? Compatible parts?

Although I have my SD that lasts me throughout the day, I was looking for something I could take with me on a night out. I don't like the batteries on the 901's so I thought I would go with the old pen styles. Also need something for driving as the cart in 901/SD doesn't last the duration of my 1 hour drive to work, or maybe it can't wick fast enough

Atomizers, 2 holes v/s 4 holes. Is it just an easier pull with a 4 hole? Does one provide better vapor than the other?

I think I saw a post about 901's producing better flavour than the 801's.

Ok so if anyone can clear up any of those points I can go and find my perfect personal vaporizer to accompany a pint.

I recall hearing the 801's are best dripped...not all that great with carts.

    I could be wrong though...

    Yes, they are interchangeable.

As far as 2 hole and 4 hole....I used to use a 2 hole and found it to be a hard draw (like sucking my brains out!)....without much vapor. For me, the 4 hole was an easier draw with more vapor. But....it seems others here have had different experiences with it so it might be an individual thing.

I also recall someone saying the 901 produced better flavor but I can't attest to that as I've never owned one.

    Sam -

How are the penstyles with carts? do they work pretty well or are they better with dripping?

I have to use the carts with mine because I vape so much that constant dripping, particularly when I am driving, just isn't feasible.

I top off and throw a couple of drops on the atomizer at the same time....that holds me over pretty well. Never had a problem with the carts that way.

Edited to add: I remember Kate having some problem with carts so she used a lot of dripping but I can't recall offhand what model she was using.

I have both the 901 and penstyle. I used predominantly the DSE801. Now, i use the M201.

Anyway, my take on this is that the 801 and 901 are pretty much equal in the vapour department. 901's are a little better with carts than the 801 but requires way too much topping up. 801 imo gives a better taste and a finer vapour that is somehow more satisfying. Can't really explain it...

I use carts the same way as Lu. When the atomiser begins to get wimpy, i will reserve that atomiser for dripping only. It will work for a while longer and then finally die off.

I do suggest a pen style for your needs. Let us know how it goes.

DSE801 an RN4072 are the same thing for me. Both worth the investment !

Yeah, definitely go with a 4-hole. When the atomizer gets a bit dirty, the draw will decrease and you'll need that extra slack.

I use a Janty classic atomiser, it gives better flavour and vapour than a 901 or RN4072 (or anything else I've tried) but I've not had any luck with cartridges.

Thanks for all the input. It seems that the few UK suppliers we have only 1 stocks the RN4072 and none with the 801.

I did have a look around the Janty stuff and considered their warranty offer.

I hate topping off at traffic lights!
