I don't use batteries anymore! in The E-Cigarette; thanks for the clarification Equazcion..
I just knew that I need to get something with the power supply of 1000mAh....

You mean mA

yeah I think so..but never knew just saw it on many different sites and threads..
as 1000mAh.. but i guess if i have a 5volt or even 10 Watts peak power output.. that would be fine too

Yeah people use mA and mAh interchangeably, even though they really mean totally different things. The mA is what matters for getting the cig to light though. mAh means how long the battery lasts before needing to be recharged.
The volts is a whole different story
Apparently you need around 5 volts for an e-cig.
Hope I didn't just add more confusion. I'm trying.

Well...That Fry's deal was just too good to pass up. I now have one of those on the way, too.

Thanks Peachette, I have a Fry's locally so I can pick it up on my own. I hope it will also charge my iPhone as that will make it dually purposeful.

to power an e cig u need between 3.5 and 4 volts at 1 amp current..
4 normal AA sized 2600 mah NiMh rechargeable cells giving 4.8 volts in series will power your USB thing.. chop off the USB plug and connect the USB positive and negative wires straight to the battery pack
a small cheap 4 AA cell battery holder.. will hold the 4 NiMh battereis.. the cost next to nothing..
trog

Trog is right. You really don't need one of these fancy battery packs, although if you are using it for e-smoking, it's not a bad investment.
The problem with people doing this mod themselves, trog, is that it's hard for most people to factor durability in when they are making electronics for themselves. They will do stuff like not heatshrink a joint that will be flexed a lot, and the wires will get stripped and they'll get a bum circuit. It's easier for someone to just plug a little battery pack thing into the wall, take it off the wall, plug the e-cig usb in and smoke than replace batteries from a charger one at a time and try and keep track of them.
Just saying the pack is slightly more idiot proof, otherwise i agree with you.
