Wow, while reading this and using a Super Cigarette (I don't know what is really and haven't received my Pen yet from Steve, maybe tomorrow) I squeezed the cart around the atomizer and got some good throat hit as well as good vapor as opposed to an air like sucking sound that I normally get.

Hopefully someone will come up with a way to create a secure air tight fit on the carts so this isn't an issue in the future.

I know I will not be the one to figure this out. I just want to be a consumer.

I would imagine some sort of recess or groove in the atomizer with an O ring or something to that affect to create a secure fit without stretching out the cart for those who top off and/or refill carts. I would'n mind paying a little extra for that as a consumer.

Yes, it shouldn't be an insurmountable design problem to overcome by any means.

There's several annoying aspects to these vapourizers I'd immediately change if given a magic wand. A whole lot of room for design improvements are possible.

What I really don't understand is why empty new carts are so bloody expensive. They probably only cost a penny to make.
I was considering something that wouldn't inhibit removal of the cart so much, like a gasket, rubber washer, or a piece of rubber tubing that could slide over the outside of the cig. But I'm too lazy to go looking for stuff like that. Maybe when I'm bored one day.

True that carts get looser over time --- however, at least with my RN4072, the seam is pretty loose on my new carts too, and sealing them up helps a lot. In fact when I originally tried this and posted the suggestion, it was a result of doing this with a new cart that had never been refilled. I'm not sure which cig(s) you have though, maybe some have tighter-fitting carts than others.

Oh and in response to that: You woudn't believe the markup people get away with on ecig supplies, probably since they're not widely available yet. Based on what I've seen distributor prices listed at, the markup is currently up in the 100%-150% range.

I try to get whatever I can from other sources (though that doesn't amount to much). Syringes, for example, go for about 75 cents in a drug store, probably less if you shop around online. And I don't need to tell you what they go for at ecig sites.

The was actually mentioned by Rustlug in the forums and on a video posted on Youtube. He recommends placing Tape over one of the holes as there is a chance you could accidentally burn out your atomizer. I usually cover the hole with my thumb when I feel like getting a big hit. Especially if I've had a bad day. Good tip though, it works great.

Gotta love that accent. We Americans are such boring talkers

I'd love to try this, except the 4 holes that are apparently in my RN4072 aren't visible, so I don't know where to cover. Anyone have any idea?

By the way, just to be clear, my tip is different from the video -- it isn't to cover the actual atomizer holes, but to cover the seam between the cart and the atomizer to prevent excess air from coming in.

Yea we don't have much of an accident. I used to when I was a kid however ( I was originally born in Wales)

I apologize about the post, I glanced at the model number you posted and thought you where talking about the supermini. (RN4081) Either way great information for anyone who hasn't tried it.

Hi Giuseppe, welcome to the forum.

    Throat hit

What exactly produces the throat hit?

    E-smoking 'hit', carts and liquids.

Someone posted that covering the holes results in the release of a toxin....don't remember what exactly but scared me a bit. I used to cover my DSE901b hole for a fraction of a second to get better hits (as was recommended in the other post), but since reading that about the toxin being released I stopped. The guys sounded like he knew what he was talking about.

Anyone know what I'm talking about?
