Talking Is your Mini a DSE901 or a RN4075?

I recently became aware that there are two versions of the mini. The DSE-901 and the RN-4075. There are a couple of ways to tell the difference:

1- cartridge has a slit for an air hole - 901
cartridge has a hole for an air hole - 4075
2 - atomizer heating element is long and pointy - 901
atomizer heating element is broad - 4075
3 - serial number on sensor tip of battery has "SLB" - 901
serial number on sensor tip of battery starts with "SH0" - 4075

It has been my experience that a 4075 is much better both in quality of manufacturing, but also vapor production and battery life.

If you know of any other differences or opinions please add to this thread.

The RN4075 makes better throat hit, so confusing because they are the ones with the thin atomiser bridge or are they? They supposedly run hotter but the thin bridge always hits better and thats the RN4075??? So confusing!!!!!!!!!

Neither looks like the DSE901 to me. The one on the left doesn't look like any of mine. The one on the right looks like my RN4075's, I think.

I've got DSE901 atomisers and I'm not thrilled with them. They are usable, but I certainly wouldn't buy any more.

EDIT - a couple more differences for you

The air hole on the DSE901 atomiser is larger.
The RN4075 battery is longer, by I'd estimate about 5mm.
The DSE901 battery has an electromagnetic switch, the RN4075 has a mechanical pressure switch (unless they've changed them recently).

I actually prefer the feel and finish of the DSE901, but unfortunately they don't perform as well.

having taken loads apart.. the DSE seems to have a better build quality.. but the RN delivers more hit and vapour..

build quality not being connected with functionality.. simply with the paint finish.. thickness of wall tubing.. and physical durability.. the RN is the "cheap" one of the two.. but we prefer it..

the 2 kits I got were both RN's, I did get some spare atomizers and batteries with one purchase, and one each of those parts were original DSE901 parts. They both suck. The battery switch was finnicky and the atomizer worked very poorly, even on an RN battery. I sacrificed that battery for it's connector to make one mod, and the atomizer for another higher voltage mod. It works good now. I didn't want to bother returning them and waiting, just use 'em for what they're good for.

So if my super hitting atomisers no one recognises them does that mean that there are more than one RN model? The batteries from both of these atomisers are RN! Could this be the answer to the atomisers being so hit and miss? Both atomisers in the picture are matte white.

this pic is the RN type.. it came from jason..

http://www.cavecom.com/pics/atom-1.jpg

the only real difference is the RN type runs hotter.. this means more burnt taste if its let go dry but more vapour if its kept wet..

its also very easy to flood the 901 type.. nearly impossible with the hotter RN type..

a 901 type also has a noticeably bigger air hole in the side.. RN carts are also a loose fit in the 901 atomizer.. they fall out..

as for one of the same type working better than the other.. well chuck it and buy another.. most people try and make the things last way longer than they are good for..

ps.. another pic of a week old one..

What about the JOYE 302? I think it should also be considered in the "Mini" class.
