Glycerin and food flavourings?

I got some glycerin today and tried it on its own (mixed with a little water), it is tasteless but delivers a decent throat hit. I'm not too bothered about the lack of nicotine because I want to get away from nicotine anyway.
I'm just wondering if you can add food flavourings to glycerin and if so which ones are best to try. I don't actually have any flavourings at home at the moment. I did have coffee flavour but used it making ice cream.

PS does anyone know if using glycerin instead of eliquid will make any difference to atomizer lifespan? Does glycerin clog up the atomizer more/less than eliquid?
