CAUTION: Careful with your Atomizers!

I just got my first e-cig today. After few hours of use and several refills my atomizer suddenly stopped functioning all together. No heat, no vapor - nada.

So I investigated what may have been the cause. Burnt Atomizer? Couldn't have been, I've tried my best to keep the carts full and made sure each puff had a bubbly sound. Clogged? Nah, I cleaned it out / boiled it dried and even air blasted it.

Whats the cause then? I took the atomizer apart and saw that the silver wall attached to the brass fitting was moving freely.

I then took it apart and saw that the heating coil leads snapped from the atomizer base and no longer made contact. The wire were also twisted.

The Cause? Constant screwing of the atomizer with the cartridge / mouthpiece still attached to the atomizer caused the wires to twist and eventually break.

How do I solve / prevent this? NEVER twist on (or off) the automizer with the mouthpiece still attatched. ALWAYS have a firm grip on the atomizer base and twist the battery, not the atomizer! Maybe some JB Weld can hold it in place (somehow) and prevent the silver casing of the atomizer from moving. I am still looking for a solution to prevent the atomizzer twisting freely.

I had the same thing happen to my 901 atomizers a few days ago and fixed them without soldering.

I'm not sure if you could do the same with the 401 though.

I just pulled the wire out as far as I could with tweezers. Then I bent the wire and put it through the hole on the atomizer cap. I just made sure the wire was connected to the cap cuz thats where it meets the battery. Bent the wire so that even when the cap is turned, there would still be a connection. But that your atomizer looks beyond repair.

I think I broke my atomizers when trying to clean the juice that was leaking through it to the battery. I used a paper towel in a twisting motion and must have loosened the wire.

I have a 901 atomizer with the exact same problem. This atomizer looks different from all the others I have. It says "Mini Cig" right on it in gold print. This one has a sort of mesh "nipple" on top of the arch. It produces WAY more vapor than any other atomizer I own, and I too had to screw with the wires to make them contact.

Still have to redo it every time I change the battery though since it moves so freely.

It's not so much as they dont last but the price of them .they only cost cent's to manufacture .I dont mind changing my vaporizer every week but not when they are £7 a time .
