I'm debating dropping my 901 completely and switching to a better mini for on the go occasions. I've read great things so far about both of these models, but which one is the better choice? Also, there seems to be more parts/distributors available for the pilot/evo/m-401 models than the 510/dura, which makes me think the 401 is the better choice all around.

I'd give the Dura a miss if I were you. I'm now on my third set of replacements and none of it has worked. I've given up with it, premium price for a beta product. My Evo seemed to work well - cheap and had super fast charge time from USB but I couldn't be bothered faffing around with the little carts and dripping it is tricky. From what I've read the 401 is very similar and I think I Leaford gave it a glowing review somewhere. Could be wrong about that though. Definitely be wary of the Dura though Russell. |

I think so.

I think they are different beasts really. The M401/Evo is very small, but punches above its weight. Its main downside, IMO, is fiddly cartridges. They are not that easy to top up. Do it carelessly and you will get a mouthfull of e-liquid. The 901 cartridges are much easier in this respect. However, it gives a better "smoking" experience than any 901 I've tried IMHO.. I've not tried the Joyetech/Dura. It looks like when it works it should be good. It seems like a 901 on steroids, which appeals to me. I'm still doubtful about spending so much on an item which seems to have a fairly high chance of being defective. Battery problems seem to be common, judging by what's being posted here. If they ironed out the issues, and reasonably priced spare parts were available, then I'd be tempted. Neither is perfect. |

and that was another thing about the evo that made me think - i don't want to constantly have to go through the process to simply refill the damn thing. plus, the evo-users seem to be running into more issues lately...

i'm sure someone will eventually undercut them or even improve on the model in the near future.

Just a thought ... if Janty are having trouble with their version of the 501 won't that apply to all versions from the same manufacturer? What if you get a dud with no warranty?

| Good point Kate. It's the same model so it stands to reason that the same problems exist. Litecig EU stock the 510 and they offered 6 month warranties on their products last time I used them. No difference in price though.
