I've had a classic kissbox for almost a week now. At first i used no nicotine cartridges which were fine. Now i use high nicotine ones. But I get this bitter smoke which wants to make me cough. Could this be caused by nicotine, or have I burnt the atomizer? Furthermore, it seems that I can take only a few good hits and after that, i almost get no smoke what so ever. After a while not smoking the cigarette, it gives a few more good hits and thats it again. Taking few fast puffs sometimes helps
What could be the problem? Maybe I'm just doing it wrong?
Sounds like its starving for juice. Are you sure you are pushing your carts in all the way (its very hard)? If you are and it's still iffy, you might want to make sure the cart stuffing is almost protuding from the cart and very moist.
I've noticed when reusing carts this can become a problem. A burning atomizer does taste pretty foul and hits the back of the throat in every wrong way. I like to prime my atomizer with a few drops before jamming the cart on, seems to help create a better liquid draw for the atomizer. Hope that helps.

I have a new Kissbox and have expereince the 'burnt' taste that others have reported. I believe it is a thirsty monster that runs hot and depletes cartridges pretty fast. When it tries to wick a nearly dry cart, you begin to get the off taste. I understand now why some folks prefer to drip on the atomizer rather than use carts.

I currently am using a generic atomizer from Puresmoker.com with the KB because it is overall a better vaping device with cartridges. I have been trying to get Jeff at Janty to return my emails as I would like to try another KB atomizer to see if mine might be pseudo-defective. The KB extended package is great, but I just need to know if the atomizers just do not fit into my routine.

You've hit the nail on the head with this post. I've noticed the same thing with my kissbox. Seems like it doesn't want to wick up after so many topping offs no matter how much fluid is still in the wool. At this point I restuff the cartridge and it works pretty well again. Seems like the top of the wool gets too mushy after a while. I know that burnt taste very well . Tastes just like burnt beef jerky to me.

Burnt beef jerky? That sounds like a great flavour for an e-liquid!

    Thank you Zeitgeist and smokingclam.
So I did the following. Removed the cartridge, which indeed had like a little hole in the wool, and put it in a syringe. I dropped one drop of liquid straight into the atomizer, took a few puffs without the cartridge on, then put in a new cartridge. First few hits were just like before, then it started to get a bit better, it was quite good in the end compared to what it was before. After 5minutes I tried it out once more to find out if its still good and again, vapor disappears after few hits. It is becoming to get really annoying.
Maybe still doing something wrong. Maybe the dripping procedure. I find it really hard to find the right information when it's theres loads of it around

Okei, it seems that the top end of the wool dries out really fast, so I dropped some liquid on it to get it moist again. Still get that harsh vapor. Maybe cleaning the atomizer will work?

Yes - penstyles do that. The mini-pipe imho uses penstyles cartridges more efficiently and drains them well. Despite the large carts frequent topping up is the only way to use carts with a penstyle - which is why a lot of penstyle users drip.

I have run into the burnt taste a number of times as well with my penstyle, and it's always because I let my cart get dried out. The taste seems to linger for quite some time even when changing carts because it gets stuck on the atomizer. What I typically do in this case is remove the cartridge, and just drip until the taste goes away, then put a few drops on the atomizer again and add a new cart.
