LifePo4 batts are what I use and they are also built NOT to explode. Do a search on amazon or batteryjunction for Tenergy LifePo4 cr123 3v batteries w charger. I think you can get 6 batts AND special lifepo charger for $26
There have been no reports Ive heard where a vaper has had issues with these batteries. The issues have been almost exclusive with the CR2 type batteries...

thats right! im using the energizer CR2's so its not really a luck of the draw... but lets say you sit on the button for 2-5 min..... a CR2 will explode... thats really about it.. they normally dont explode but the attys that we use have a thick dence coil, and not all the energy is converted to thermal energy. therefore you discharge at a high rate. so over all.... ya its a user thing... you should be fine... but CR2's DO explode forshure!

the way I look at it, there was a reason that original e-cigs came out in single-battery 3.7 volts models.
I don't understand high-voltage anyway - the heat kills nicotine so it's a waste that way, you go thru more eliquid trying to keep the atomizer from burning up so that's a waste too, and if you're going for throat burn, well, heat on the back of the throat is not a good thing medically speaking, so it seems to be pointless all the way around. What am I missing?

This unprotected battery stuff is blown way out of proportion. Do batteries sometimes explode? yes....so do duracells and cell phone batteries and all batteries. Im not the math expert here but you probably have a better chance of dieing from a airplane falling from the sky and hitting your house than you do from a 3v battery exploding in your mouth.
In other words stop worrying about it.
I couldn't have said it better, lol.

What are you missing? Just about everything, based on the hundreds or more that use and speak so highly of HV devises. And none of the items you mentioned have been my experience. But consistency of each inhale being the same for 5-7 hours on one charge is a big difference over the little analog shaped devises.

So, do most consider the Tenergy LifePo4 cr123 3V batteries safer than the CR2 15270 batteries?

Funny you should say that just yesterday, when 2 planes collided in the sky 30 miles from my house and landed in a field. Maybe that's too close for comfort?

You put perfectly into words what I've been intuiting since first looking at all the batt mods areas of this site.
I have a strong feeling that the makers of the OEM standard e-cigs, the type that hit the mall kiosks the most, make damn sure these batts are designed not to explode under almost ANY circumstances except the most extreme kind of abuse.
There have been at least one or two examples so far (unconfirmed or possibly false stories?) of batts exploding, and in both cases it was a homemade or 3rd party mod, not an original e-cig batt. So I feel quite safe, by comparison, puffing away on a standard 3.7 OEM batt and being happy with that.

I might have to stick w/ the 3.7V idea as well unless I find something that uses 'Protected' batteries for HV usage. I am using a 510 SPADE atm but it's only 3.7V & after ALOT of research I have found my most desired HV Mod uses CR2s. ><
I searched for days now for 'Protected' CR2s for the Super-Six. They just don't exist...
I'm gonna do a search on Mods that use 'Protected' batteries. I'm very curious what HV 'Protected' Mod everyone recommends tho!
