MAH ratings Over Inflated

I've used just about every battery on the market that are commonly used in big battery mods. CR2s, 10440, 18650, 14500, 16340, etc...

Based on how often I had to change batteries I figured I went through about 2600 MAH worth of batteries a day. I would go through four 14500 batteries regularly a day. Now, I didn't run them dead but until I noticed a sizable performance drop.

I've had the eGo for about three or four weeks now. The eGo batteries are rated at a lowly 650 MAH. When I purchased it I fully expected to get around three or four hours of use based on what I got from everything else. To my utter surprise here is a little sampling of the battery life I have experienced:

11 Hours 24 Minutes
8 Hours 3 Minutes
9 Hours 38 Minutes
12 Hours 13 Minutes
11 Hours 43 Minutes
10 Hours 45 Minutes
9 Hours 29 Minutes

This type of battery performance flat out surprised me. Now I don't trust the MAH ratings any other batteries are rated at.

I know the eGo batteries are considerably more expensive than say my 14500 batteries and the jury is still out on how long these batteries will continue to deliver this type of performance but at least for now I think the added cost is well worth it, especially when you factor in that I can charge a battery in under two hours.

Anyway, if a battery rated at 650 MAH gives this type of performance I now wonder what my other batteries are truly rated at.

awesome news. i knew others said they got lots of use out of theirs but interesting on the numbers. i just purchased a 501 to use and my partner wanted something similar to a cigarette but i had already decided i was getting an ego when i could afford it.

I agree. At an average of 10 Hours 27 Minutes the performance is impressive. I know of no 900mah 1000mah battery that performs like that.
