Devon, Thank you so much for the photo. I understand now. That was super of you to take the time to take and post a photo for us.

Ellie, yes, same source as you. If you purchased extra atamizers or complete kits check the threading. I got an atomizer with bad threading in the kit. That issue I did have to notify them about because there were no obvious burrs that could be removed.

But, don't get upset with puresmoker, they are great people to work with. Stick with this thread and your's will be ok, too. (And mine definitely needed a wrench for both... and I can now wiggle it on and off... lots of strong wiggling but it's getting better.)

rmasu, what I wouldn't give to have a dremel right now, or to have my husband not stroke affected. He was a wizz at fixing things for me. BTW how much does a dremel cost?

Now, back to Ellie, ok find the wrench and get the cart off.

    1. Find a bunch of circular pencils and some emery boards.
    2. Cut an emery board in thirds lengthwise.
    3. Now gently put the emery board into the atomizer to determine the highest point of the coil.
    4. Mark the emery board with a thin magic marker at the outer edge. (This will be your guide, that you can see, so as not to damage the coils later on.
    5. Now stand the pencil on the eraser end and place the long sliver of emery board next to the pencil with the rougher side out and clasp them tightly together.
    6. Now attempt to fiddle them into the hole of the atomizer getting a sliver of the metal band of the pencil inside, too. (If is't to wide/thick, peal off a few layers of the emery board from the finer side, or try a different pencil. None of my pencils were the same diameter eventhough they all looked alike. Also, I used round barrelled pencils, not octogonal)
    7. Once you're inside with that connection sand a bit going around in circles.
Check if you made enough progress.

(I didin't make enough so I went on to torquing the pencil in the hole.)
    8. Torque = an angular pressure. The pencil will no longer be sanding or moving evenly around in the hole. Your pencil wil be on an angle and you're applying stronger force to the outer edge that is comming in contact with the emery board.
    9. Keep doing this, and checking, and doing this and checking.

What you are doing is the same as Devon,8-ball and rmasu suggested but in a different way. Just make sure you get the a sliver of the metal band of the pencil inserted all the way around so your atomizer doesn't get elliptical.

Aside from being up at 3:20AM, this was fun getting help from a lot of people. It feels good to be part of this family, but now I got to sign off and go ni-ni.

Stay with it Ellie, there will be more help and more suggestions. The dremel is by far the fastest, just bring some donuts to your local firehouse one of those guys has got to have a dremel.

Keep posting how you're doing. Don't get upset just imagine how much work those guys at puresmoker went to inorder to get their shipments out ... It's getting harder and harder for the suppliers, so what we can fix here we save them and us time. We'll be with you until you get yours fixed.

(Mine are almost ok now. And, I did what Devon posted after the emery/pencil trick and they got better. I'll proll work on them again tomorrow for awhile, too.)

thanks for the tips monkey, i'll give it a shot.

and i'm truly not a problem customer, i promise i know puresmoker has quite the following, and i appreciate that. my feeling is though- i pay for something to work as described... not for me to have to fiddle around to the wee hours of the morning trying to fix something that should never have been sent out that way.

i emailed PS last night about what they'd suggest i do, i hope to hear back soon. i'm also hoping this cart lasts me until i get home (i couldn't bring myself to carry pliers in my purse for the sake of switching carts).

Maybe you could sand down the plastic of a cartridge a little so it's a good fit (that should be easy) and use it all the time by replacing the filler from other cartridges when needed.

still no reply from ps, but i've made progress!

i no longer need pliers to remove the cart!! if i hold my breath and pull and wiggle as hard as i possibly can until my face turns red- the cart comes out! still a PIA, but better than needing pliers which i was so not into.

the throat hit issue has also been resolved, i think it was a matter of breaking in the device.

so i'm really loving the 901 now, minus the cart issue of course. maybe it will help with my upper body strength

maybe you could try putting a lighter underneath it. the heat will soften the plastic and make it loose

Mine is probably not as bad, but I keep having trouble with the cartridges, especially trying to get them back off. I don't have nearly this much trouble with the other 901. I tried using a piece of square rubbery cloth which was made to help open bottles by giving a better grip. It really helps. If it's not just because the e-cig is new, I'll probably cut a smaller piece off to have with me for when I go out.

I found the edge of a pair of sissors, dragged from the "juice" end towards the smoke end took a layer of plastic off, there seemed to be a fault part of the way toward the smoke bit.
I then used the same tip, but swopped stuffing, rather than reshape every tip...

I ran into this problem too. I got my 901 from Litecig and an extra pack of carts. The carts that came with the 901 have the round hole on the mouthpiece while the pack of extra carts I bought are the kind with the slit in the mouthpiece and the single airway on the side within the cart. The carts with the slit in the mouthpiece are extremely tight to get on and off my 901 whereas the round hole type fit smoothly. The issue here I think is the actual model of 901 you have. I can't remember the "N" model number offhand but just know there are at least 2 types sold as the 901 that look identical. Do a search on the forum about the 901 and you will find the threads that discuss this.

The carts with the slit seem to me a better design as they hold more liquid and are easier to fill and seem to vape stronger. Out of the pack of extra carts I got there are 2 that I can get on and off fairly easily so I have just been using them along with my Riskee Yuice liquid. Once the stuffing in them wears out I will just replace it with the stuffing from the other carts.

The main thing it seems is that everyone should realize that there are slightly different models all being sold as the 901. As far as I can tell they are each quality units but you must be careful to check with your supplier that the replacement carts they sell go with the one you bought.

I just got my 901 and have the same issue. Had to use pliers to get the carts off.
