yVilla Thanks,
I had posted it a few times on the Duracell Thread with all the links & manuals as well as more.
Thanks

Cell is right on point here--why is there an issue? The last I looked at this thread, Cell stated:
"OK FACTS: (2) Different Battery mAh What this Means:
1) "Battery capacity is 1700 mAh" Is That is The Actual Battery Size In mAh & Rating Capacity (this is how all batts are, but include the Voltage output as well)
2) "Output Current 1000 mA"
Sounds right to me--Sun

Candy, I have both. And I am using the APC powerpack as we speak, with the Bestecig USB passthrough - no inline battery - and the APC is powering it just fine.
Is it only the duracell one that you have? If so, that's why it's not working.

lol. i give up, no issue.
5v 1a output, that's fine. it's all you need.
it didn't work for me. sorry i said anything.
my bad.

i know you are trying to help. i just got leary about the APC when i read they were being discontinued. i'm going to order something this week. it's no big deal, more of a nice to have item. i just wanted to get my point across about the duracell packs not working. guess i need to work on my communication skills. lol.

Candy--There is an issue with the Duracell as is shown here--the lable shows 5v 1000mAh --As is reiterated here many times is that Duracell does not tell us the mA of their battery and that is deceptive as we all need to see the mA rating of 1000mA or 1amp. So yes, you asked a very ligitimate question--Sun

i know sun, and i appreciate you are trying to help.
i was simply trying to keep anyone else from making the same mistake i did.
thank you.

he he he..
okay two points.. e cig atomizers run off 3.5 to 4 volts.. this is whats needed to directly power one.. not five volts....
now this thing here is a simple cheap external power pack that will directly power an e cig..
DealExtreme: $3.80 AA-Battery USB Emergency Backup Power and Charger Pack
with three 1.2 volt AA (metal hydride) cells in and a blank it will be 3.6 volts.. with four it will be 4.8 volts.. take your pick..
five volts is needed to recharge a single 3.7 to 4 volt lithium cell.. or to overcome the built in resistor USB e cig thingies have..
u need to find some way to get rid of the built in resister or battery in your pass thru thingy.. three metal hydride cells in the thing i linked to will then directly power your e cig.. leave in the resistor and four cells will do the job.. or charge the little battery in your pass thru thngy if it has one..
super cheap and it will work.. honest

Trog,
Yeah Good
This "Thingy", I looked at reviews, not very well liked......
Maybe we can get some people to cut up their USB Pass Throughs, so they ruin it .
NOW Sell Them The "Thingy" and Make another "Thingy" to Use Instead?
I think You Get What U Pay For...
Keep Building Them ScrewDrivers!!!
