Default Banned countries

I know e-cigs have been banned all over, but have no idea why? What reason do they give? And does this mean if you are caught with one you broke the law? Are they treating it as an illegal drug or what? I don't get it. It has been banned in some pretty liberal countries, right? WTF?

To be a bit more precise, as seen in the Australian Egar Illegal thread, the ban is on importing and selling, but it has not extended to making either possession or use illegal.

The Device in Australia is not illegal, but the nicotine cartridge is illegal, but not being enforced. If you can not import the device and the nicotine cartridge is illegal--I constitue that as a ban as most other would also. The bottom line is it is a "ban" no matter how techincal you want to spin it--Sun

Sun, I wasn't contesting that there was a ban in Australia.

If you look back at the first post, booboo asked if it was being treated as an "illegal drug". That connotes arrest and incarceration even for mere possession and use. I was responding to that.
