Vaping flavors? Not me!! (LOL!) in The E-Cigarette; I think maybe I'm an oddball ("MAY be??") but I did NOT want a tobacco flavor when I started out. ...

I think maybe I'm an oddball ("MAY be??") but I did NOT want a tobacco flavor when I started out. My logic was that I wanted to replace the nicotine buzz associated with a hit on a cig with something completely different so that I would not be missing the cigs. Does that make sense? I wanted to create a new habit and get my buzz associated with it in case the e-cig wasn't a good enough surrogate.
And I didn't care if it looked like a cig... I only wanted my pv to be small enough to be handy.
Needless to say, I was VERY surprised at what a good surrogate my new pv was and after a week or two decided that I just HAD to have some tobacco flavors! Not because I missed them but because I wanted the variety! Heh!
Go figure!

Gotta say this to newbiers (that's newbs who are newer than I):
It is possible to spend less even when starting out. I am unemployed and quit for financial reasons as well as health reasons. I am sticking with the 510, investing further $$ only in liquids necessary to refill carts, not much else.
Certainly this can be a fun hobby and, for some, a new obsession. But for this guy who really just wanted to quit (and I know I'm not alone), although there is a greater initial financial outlay than a pack or two of smokes, one can save sooner than later. But (and I can't stress this enough), I read a lot early on and was really committed to do this no matter what.
My first week I went from buying 12 packs of analogs to two. No intention to buy any more!
Glad there were/are a ton of responses to my little thread. I'm ordering a 510 kit today for my partner and we're both on the way to saving 500.00 a month between the two of us, cost of PV supplies included!
Regards, all!

Same here. Cept I ordered for my son and I. Read a bunch (STILL reading) like you, ordered the 510s, replacements, and juices. Also this week getting a small base kit together for DIY.
So far it's been good. Learning what my ideal nic level is, and favorite FLAVORS. That's the fun part

I Think For Most Of Us (Re:$$) It Quickly Becomes A Hobby At The Same Time, What With Flavors & The Different Kinds Of Devices. And Some Get Wound Up In The Fun. But Yet Fun Can Cost Money Right?

I took the long way 'round. Bought a blu, then actually did some research while I was nursing my wounds (waiting for the refund to clear)
I bought a 510 because I got the impression of a sort of balance between quality and price, a workhorse model if you will.
I haven't gone back.
Aesthetics were the big thing for me, originally, wanting something fairly discreet to avoid more attention than necessary. I just figured I'd find a good vanilla and stick with it. That's whenever I found out that vaping provides such experiences as 'kung pao chicken' and whatnot.
My 510 (or what it technically is now in spirit) is now a patchwork of different colored parts and LEDs.

All I wanted when I started vaping was the closest thing I could find to my Newport or Marlboro Menthol Smooths.....Mmmmm
I thought to myself....these people are crazy!!! Why in the world would I ever want to Vape PIE ?? or any flavor?...I mean if I want pie...I'll just eat some pie. lol
But after I was comfortable with vaping I said well I'll just try a couple samples to see what all the fuss is about. Then....WOW YUM WHATS THIS!!!
Forget about it.....I'm not only all over the flavors but I cant help but experiment to see what other combos I can come up with lol
I think a good percentage of us did the same thing. Its funny when I am talking to a newbie who asks what i'm vaping...their face is priceless like i just told them the craziest thing...and in the back of my head im laughing because i know exactly what they are thinking. If i wanted pie i would just eat some pie.

I've been vaping for several months now, I tried some flavors, most of them were good/ok. But the ones I like best have chocolate in them and the brown food dye just kills my atty's so fast that I've had to give up on flavored juice pretty much all together. I go with a basic clear tobacco flavored juice now with lots of vapor and a good amount of nic. That's all I really need and I save a bunch of money not experimenting around buying up all kinds of juices. Until they start making clear flavors, I'm out of the flavor game.

All I wanted when I started was something that tasted like my Marlboro's.
Then I tried a couple of "weird" flavors that tasted so much better than the tobacco, then I found Dark Chocolate, and I couldn't even imagine vaping tobacco.
Currently vaping a mixture of Spearmint & Dark Chocolate...tastes like a thin mint. Yummy.

Exactly me too. Except it was Atomic Cinnacide for me.
