White rubbery substance in cartridge?

Hi everyone,

I just pulled out the stuffing in a cartridge for my 901 for the first time. I have been using the same cartridge for a couple of weeks topping up a few times a day wiith 36 mg Riskee Yuice and I noticed that up near the the hole in the mouth piece the stuffing has a white rubbery substance on it.

Is that the way they are made or is it something that is building up there as I vape?
