You did nothing wrong, USPS tracking sucks. Usually only a scan when actually enters the system and normally after it is delivered. Not much for tracking at all.

I ordered 5 more atomizers and two more ruyan disposable cigars, and the package left Shanghai yesterday, arrived w/ U.S. Customs at 2 today and was released from Customs by 4:30.
