A weird problem- the atomizer?...
So I'm not sure what's going on. I have my dse901b hooked up sometimes to a battery and sometimes the usb passthrough. Every once-in-awhile, it doesn't produce the same vapor and taste like utter ...... Then it will start working again.
I should note that this is happening only with the new atomizer I bought from Puresmoker. I have been using it for 2 days and it's been occurring since I put it in. But I'm not certain that's the problem since I've never switched out atomizers before and don't understand what could be going wrong.
Also, this atomizer, when it's functioning properly, makes a "bubbling" sound that my original never made. But that doesn't bother me nearly as much as this putrid taste and lack of function I'm getting about every 100 puffs or so...
Any ideas?

ps has 4 hole atomizers, was the one you had before a 2 hole? i know 4 holes burn hotter

yes, a burnt taste. I only see one hole in the atomizer. I should also mention that I top-off and drip and my carts have always still been moist. however sometimes, when I open it and drip, it functions properly again. it's almost as if the wick isn't properly absorbing the liquid from the cart or something.

sometimes it has to do with the "fit".
look inside and see if everything looks okay, nothings bent or sloped.
if this a problem with this one atomizer, something may be misaligned.
you want a good fit of cart material and atomizer to give you the best wicking and performance.
an improper fit will give you the same symptoms of a cart that is drying out.

I just looked inside and the wick seems to be protruding normally. Also, I just got that crap taste again. YUCK! And it still came with lots of vapor, just gross.

you might try pulling the cart material up in case the coil sits lower. this may also be contributing to the bubbling noise.
i had this happen (burnt taste) once after a cleaning. almost like one area of the coil wouldn't wick and created a dry/hot spot. nasty. i figured the atomizer was toast so i cleaned it and blew it out again then dripped the atomizer and let it set for an hour or so. i had to pilot puff slowly until it came back and has been fine ever since. i also wonder if there was a fiber or other material on the coil (maybe plastic) if this may do the same thing.

I am also having problems but mine are not new been rotating 5 of them since January.
Really Harsh Vapor
Another one did it today so thats 3 .
The last one has black crud at the very ends of the bridge but nothing on top.
The first 2 look clean and healthy just dont taste good.
It tastes like rotten eggs .
Never had this happen in 5 months they usually just die.
I got a brand new one out 4 hrs ago and am sticking to one liquid just incase that is the problem and so far so good.

The bubbling one may have too much liquid in it.
Try blowing it out to get rid of the the residue.
I used to have one that whistled not sure why, it did it from day one until it died.

I've had the same problem. Turned out to be the cart fiber was packed too tight. If there's too much fiber in the cart it wants to hold on to the liquid and not transfer easily to the bridge. Too little and the fluid likes to leak out. You'll get a burnt taste if the atomizer is not wicking enough fluid. This is probably why it works good when you drip, its getting the fluid it needs. Try changing carts and look for one thats not packed so tight.
