Batteries are my biggest issue. It looks to me that China is producing some crappy Lithium Batteries.

Can anyone point me to a directory that explains all these battery numbers (Example 901, 401 ect..)? Im a newbie!

I too bought a ****load of batteries from China (good price, could not resist)
I have found all were lit when they arrived and the slightest movement lights them up, so of course they seem to not last very long....Think I will not go that route again.

My first ecig was the Pilot M401 & I'm not thrilled with the batt life. I can get 2-3 hours tops. Sometimes less. I charged 1st time for the 12 hours recommended & then 4 hours after that. It seems if I leave it on the charger over night the life of the batt is even lower so I don't do that anymore. I'm a mod to heavy user but I think it should last longer than that. I put an email into Puresmoke about it. I haven't heard back but realize they are moving so hope to hear from them when they get set up.

they really get worse over time. i get a much better hit from the short EVO battery but they just don't last. I'm a heavy user. I now carry the EVO, 2 short batteries, 1 long battery, a 901 with 4 batteries AND the 501 I just received with 2 batteries to get through a day. Waiting on a Shltload of stuff from China. hopefully new stock will cure these woes... I truly hope the mini pipe is a solution to all of this.

Well I just got the Classic penstyle from Puresmoker today with a USB passthru & I LOVE IT! Down side is 1 of the atomizers I bought doesn't work with the passthru so will have to talk to Steve about that when he lands. I also got 1 of those USB battery pack chargers that takes 4 AA batts. I put my rechargable camera batts in it & it works GREAT!! I'll save my reg batts for when I'm away from home. Thanks to this forum that I'm now addicted to as well I'm spending far more time on this comp so the USB is coming in real handy. I can see with this penstyle I'll be using the Pilot less and less. The carts last so much longer on the penstyle.

I have the original and the hybrid.

The original batteries were getting 4-6 hours in the beginning... now they average around 4and a half hours. The short one is fairly useless... lasts about 2 hours.. maybe 2 and a half.

The problem is it is hard to judge against other users cause we all vape differently... when I use mine constant... they only last about 3 hours 45 min to 4 hours (but that is with only taking vape breaks to refill!).

I find I get about the same battery life on the 901... but it is certainly a much bigger battery (weight and circumference wise).

I do sooo love my Pilot though!

I may be going at this completely wrong, but to be fair I think total puffs/draws before recharge is the better standard to go by rather than hour avgs.

Avg DSE901 I'm finding 180mah battery capacity with everything from 150-200 puffs/draws. Lets just say you'll get 180 puffs out of it before you have to recharge and at 16 puffs/cig you'll get a little over 11 analogs out of it. And as the battery winds down the last couple of cigs aren't all that good.

For the 401 I'm finding 200mah capacity. With 200 puffs before recharge you get 12.5 smokes per charge. And at least from what I'm experiencing the last puff is as good as the first, then nothing.

So you get a much smaller package in the 401 that lasts only slightly longer but performs consistently throughout. Conceivably a half pack a day smoker could go all day with one 401 battery while a 2pk a day smoker is going to burn through 4. Anyone want to count their puffs.

That's why I want a charging case like the PCC for the Dura. I'd just like for it to accommodate 2 complete 401s and a place for a couple extra carts or slim juice bottle. You would be ready for a whole day out, battery always charged, even a spare atomizer, with nothing more than an analog sized pack.

Sorry, it's late and I could be completely off on the battery issue. Guess I'll unplug the passthrough and head off to dream about a PCC for my pilot to free me from the charger.

@Momof3: I agree a PCC for the 401 would be sweet! The problem with "puff count" is like Spikey says: We all vape differently (my "puffs" are 5-6 seconds, yours?)

I average about 3-4 hours of near constant use on a 401 battery, 402 is significantly less.
