Yes, a cermaic heating element (block or tile) would be far more solid to take the stress of expansion unlike a very fine wire.

Didnt realise at the time that there is of course the famous Porsche 901, a subconscious link there i guess, too much time spent watching Top Gear on Dave.

If some of the unused liquid is in the reservoir and not only outide the atomiser proper and into the barrel, I wonder why it doesn't get used when the main metal wick dries out?

A power-assisted nozzle/injector would avoid all the issues of leaking juice that occur in the present open-juice system. I think the early patents mentioned this, in the form of a piezo tansducer, as a way to create the mist for the coil but although it would not be expensive and easily small enough, there were i guess problems getting it to work reliably. Possibly because the viscosity of the juice can vary widely whereas the piezo needs to be 'tuned' to the liquid it is to vibrate into mist i imagine.

But some small adjustment in the casing layout that helps keep the juice in place might be possible with the existing scheme. But that would need to be done by the manufacturers. Still, next time i take one apart I will look for any possibilities in this regard.

I'm finding it quite amusing the pair off you arguing how an atomizer is fitted and whats behind it when it seems to me neither of you have actually seen it lol.

but for the record , Igetcha is right. The atomizer, coil, wic, ceramic pot and bridge are all housed in a steel cup which sits tight in the casing, this is then wired to the + and - of the battery connector.
you will always get liquid seap paste this steel cup as although a tight fit it cannot be air-tight due to the need of the vacum switch to operate.

Yes, that's what i've been saying! And yes, i have seen it.

And I know that a LOT of juice gets out. I know it is not a sealed unit and cannot be. That doesn't mean the design cannot be tweaked to minimise that leakage.

It might be that as much as half the juice we put never gets vaped and then drained out. You can say it's no big deal but you can'y say i'm wrong.

yes , some liquid is bound to get past , but in my experience it's no biggie.
I used to drain atomizers and blow them out , even steam clean them but now i find the effort of doing it a little pointless for what extra life , if any you get out of an atomizer.

In the end , atomizers are a disposable consumable. trying to ween an extra few days life out of them to me is a waste of time.

My thread was neve about extending the life of the atmiser. It was about less hassle needng to drip / refill so often. Saving time was what the thread was all about !

This video helped me a lot igetcha. I'm new to e-smoking, I just got my DSE901 last Thursday. Everything was working well up until Saturday night. I was dripping about 2 to 3 drops straight on the atomiser and on Saturday I noticed the liquid was leaking out of the end of the atomiser hole and into the battery hole.

This morning it was difficult to get any vapour and I had to drag really hard just to get any. I was also getting throat burn and a weird taste as well. I wasn't enjoying my e-cig anymore...

I followed your steps in quickly cleaning out the atomiser and my DSE901 is producing vapour like a champ again! The weird taste and throat burn is also gone too!

Thanks for the video, everything seems to working perfectly for me now.
