Default The main design problem of the 901

I love the 901 and in many ways feel it is well designed and works well - to a point.

The main problem is that juice builds up behind the atomiser (battery side). I have not had it leaking into the battery yet and so that has not been my primary concern. I just wondered why it so often seemed to run out of juice so fast! No matter how carefully you drip or fill your carts, try this next time you are run dry: disconnect the atomiser from the battery, and then blow quite hard into the atomiser from the battery connector end till you hear some juice gurgle. You can now reassemble and vape some more (5-10 puffs typically). Amazingly, you may be able to repeat this blowing and reassembing more than 10 times! Maybe 20 times! My juice is a little thicker than the bought ejuices made with PG (I use VG), so that is not the reason.

Noticed this some time ago but, as i said, no matter how careful, juice still gets to there. Happens on all my 901s.

So it seems too easy for juice to get to the back of the atomiser from where it cannot be used until blown back into play (holding the 901 with LED light facing up between vapes might do the trick too, if you can find a way to do that rather than resting it flat).

Manufacturers should consider adding a lip around the air entry opening of the inner atomiser (not the outer barrel) to hold the juice within the atomiser's main area (the inner atomiser as opposed to its tube housing). Or in some other way address this issue.

Yes, keeping the 901 upright (LED at top) between uses seems a big help, although there remains some that only the blowing can shift back into the atomiser proper. I think I'll make a litle 'docking station' for it on my desk that simply holds it upright. That may also help with not being able to find it whenever i need it

I've been wondering if the hole in the battery and the atomizer both have to be in the center to work? My juice is always running to the battery... I mean, couldn't the battery have holes on the sides and the atomizer one in the middle or vice versa so it takes a little effort for it to run in the battery? Or some kind of filter in the battery hole to keep out juice?????????

i may be wrong but as far as im aware, thats normal!

juice travels from the cart, gets soaked up by the steel wick which then feeds the heating coil underneath it. i believe there is a small reservoir where the coil is that holds a small amount of juice. the gurgling sound is the noise of juice being forced out of the reservoir.

I almost never get juice on the battery. I drip on the cart and as long as I don't fill the cart to the brim it doesn't come out of the hole in the atomizer. If I do overfill the cart I just give a few puffs before setting it down. I also rotate the cig once or twice in those first few puffs to help distribute the juice more evenly.

I haven't tried blowing in the other side except in the rare instance I do get some juice in the connection. I will though and see if I get more hits. I always try and keep those connections very clean because I think the better the connection the better the atomizer works.

i only ever blow thru the end when draining the atomiser as part of maintenance or if switching flavours.

if anyone is interested, i made a 901 user guide:-

Igetcha - while its true there is a cup/reservoir immediately behind the coil. I mean it goes further behind. That's why the draining does something. A short blow till first hear the gurgle will allow that liquid to be vaped. And this can be pepeated many times. No need to blow it out except when doing weekly maintenance.

Ha I love your vids! I think it has to do with the accent.

Do you think that it could retain this juice to help cool? I have been told its overheating the atomizer that will make them go bad.

correct mate,

dry atomisers end up getting too hot which then leads to problems. the small amount of liquid in the reservoir makes sure that the coil has a necessary supply of juice.

glad you liked the vids!
