I can't really put into words what the gesture you all have made with this means to me. I apologize for my absence from the forum Monday but I am being watched like a hawk to make sure I don't over do what my limits are for now. I expect to be back to daily (or that is my hope) within a few days.

As Imeo has said, he had already told me that I would be receiving my P&P for my work on the list. I didn't expect it but I am covered there so a huge thank you for so many things to my friend Imeo as well as to each and every one of you here. I don't want to sound like a one of those old sick people but there is only one way to prevent getting old and that isn't my way out.

Along with that age comes some things that we pay for from our earlier life and how we lived it. THus the illnesses I have endured but I am fine, be assured. One other thing that comes with getting old that some of you may recall 30 or 40 years from now is that for most folks, with advancing age, we each have our individual things that we have encountered that keep us awake at night from time to time.

What you choose to do with those things is the diference between that tagline I love so much: Every person dies but not every pereson truly lives. With that said, I can't save the world, heck I can't even save my family from many things. But I do know that these "things" that keep me awake at night? Some of them can be dealt with.

On those sleepless nights, just like the ones that we sleep soundly, we all sleep in a clean bed (or place of our choosing). We have heat in the winter; cool in the summer. When we awake, unless we forgot to go to the grocery, we have to decide what we want to eat that morning.

So no, none of us can save the world and many have had dealings with less than honorable charities but there is one that has been rated the highest percent of each dollar donated that goes to those in need. There is a link to a picture in the Child Fund sticky thread that haunts me as much as the the horrific carnage of man versus man in my career. That is of a child dragging himself to an aid station while a vulture watches, waiting for his own meal.

I have friends, I have family. I have plenty to eat and a comfortable place to live. Millions upon millions world-wide don't have that luxury. Every day is a battle just to get a clean drink of water or a piece of bread. I know the arguments about supporting lazy cultures but how is that the fault of a starving child? So as I thank you for your generosity, I would ask that anything that you may want to put where it is needed most, consider a donation to the ChildFund, Inc.

Some would say that these children are not ours but I would say they are mankinds. So no, we can't save the world but we can help feed a few children who would otherwise never eat again or see any medical treatment. In closing, I again thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your generosity. I would only ask that you consider sending it where it is most needed.
