Default New to GG have a couple questions

Hi all! Just got my first GG product...Odysseus!! This thing is awesome! Now I want like 5 more lol. Anyway, after watching Scots, Pbusardo's, and Imeo's videos, I built my first coil for the Ody. First question I have is that the videos show a different ceramic housing (I guess we got an updated version) with ceramic exposed down both sides. The one I got has ceramic down one side and ss down the other. Would I be correct in assuming that I can simply lay the wire under the wick on the ss side and do not have to extend it down between the nut and base? That's the way I built it and it seems to be working fine with no shorts or any odd resistance issues.

Second question is more of an observation...I filled mine up with some Boba's and had to open the juice control all the way to the stop to get it to wick consistently without dry hits or burning. I'm using a single piece of the wick that came with it and the pre made wire. I may try the 2 or 3 wick set up on future builds if anyone thinks that might keep me from having to open it up all the way. Also, with it fully open, I have not had any flooding, gurgling, or leaks in the last 2 hours. Would it be normal to have to open it up all the way like that for very thick juices?

    Welcome comfy!
I'm sure you'll enjoy your Ody.

Although you've already figured it out, in this video, Imeo shows how to put the wick in Penelope, which has a rebuiltable part very much like the one that the updated Odysseus has, and the setup is identical.

R.D. you must by psychic...I ordered a Penelope too. Still waiting on that to be shipped. I read so many good things about GG products here in the forums that I just took the gamble. So far, I couldn't be happier. The Ody is super quiet too...takes a bit getting used to not hearing the atty. Oh, and during all the excitement, I forgot to order NR wire...somehow I ended up with 500' of resistance wire and approx 2" of NR wire. Not sure how I did that but when I went back to COV for emergency NR wire refill, I saw the Ody in drip mode...of course, had to order it. Nobody warned me about GG addiction! Thank goodness the GGTS wasn't in stock or one of my bills wouldn't get paid this month.

thats one more advantage of Ody and Penelope comfy that I have mention months ago. Ody and Penelope are quiet, you cant hear them.
We are so used to silly sound that an atomizer does. We solved this too with GG series of atomizers

I am very glad that are satisfied with GG. My purpose is to satisfy all vapers out there and I will not stop before I manage to do that!

Bobas on an Ody is so good it should be illegal. Thats my evening juice and I used to not like it much before I tried it in an Ody. Its pure VG though so it will clog up your coil in a few days. A dry burn may fix it some but to compare, I can get a solid week and a half when vaping a PG base like Halo Tribecca or Torque 56. I run 2 Odys for that reason, one for lighter PG and one for Bobas or sweeter juice like BWB stuff
