Penelope/ Ody and SS Mesh only

Hi all,
I have tried this on my own, only to lead to leaking issues and shorts, however i would love the input from the group who have tried this successfully.

I am sure this has come up in other threads, but i thought maybe this deserved its own thread so as not to confuse anyone. I think it woudl be nice for the SS Mesh people to have one place to go to talk.

I have tried several things and have. A couple more to try later.

If you can manage to roll the mesh to fit the channels without they get stuck go for it, if you have shorts then you have problem with oxidase mesh (check it with a multimeter to see if it conducts).

I didnt have patience for these so i have only used with mesh only in the cup making the ends flat (needs tinker with liquid control) or the easy way using hybrid wick; you will have a taste of the fiber at first but after a while if not all most of the fiber taste goes away you can also use cotton or other neutral tasting wicking material along with mesh and dont have to worry about dry burning i think.

I have successfully made one with mesh, but have to say, it is hard to get settled and ultimately, the silica or some other wicking may prove to be easier.

There is a thread discussing safe alternative wicking materials and maybe you would have better luck with cheesecloth, cotton or some other wick?

they seem to be having great success. You can make mesh still and I find that mesh, with another material in the chambers to help with leaks and to feed the mesh might ultimately be the best solution.
