huh... I dunno. Tox are made by GS aka 'GreenSound', and Lavatubes are made by 'Lrider', I think. But for a while now, any sort of variable voltage that functions similar to lavatube has been tagged with that phrase 'lavatube' on alibaba... I'm guessing just because they want to catch attention of the vendors who are searching for lavatube like mods to distribute. I could be wrong, though.

If you look around on that site you will see they have Lavatubes with the OLED screen. Also on the all metal Provare as they call it I dont see anything but the voltage showing up on the OLED.
They may have realized that a clock and calender is pretty stupid on a device that you have to remove the batteries once or twice a day.
I just hope they get the voltage issue fixed.

Yep, that looks like it! Identical to orig except it works, and all metal.

That remains to be seen.

a simple capacitor would have allowed the date/time to remain stored while the batt's are changed. I don't have to reprogram my tv remote everytime I change the batteries Little things that add to design and costs though, I'm sure we will see it eventually.

Yeah, I'm crossing my fingers. But Chris did make a special point of saying that from now on, all products will be tested before he lists em for sale, and if they don't perform, whole shipment goes back... so I'm counting on that. lol Plus, sounds like they had the problem 'almost' fixed a few times, and he was holding out till they got it right. I know a few people with other vendors got 'replacements' that still didn't come anywhere near advertised specs, and I'm pretty confident he wouldn't even offer those for sale. It becomes a huge hassle for us, and a GYNORMOUS hassle for all the vendors stuck dealing with constant issues.

I hope they kept the puffcounter on the tox. I actually liked that. Gave me a pretty good indication of where in life the battery was. But yeah, time and date would be awesome if they could keep em working with batt changes. Utterly useless without.

And lavatubes with oled screen! Swoon! My biggest bummer with the stainless lava I ordered like 2+ mos ago and still don't have is the fuzzy red led. Oled would really improve the device, visually. I had no idea GS made lava tube clones, also! Boy, any lava's I get in the future will definitely be from them, just for the oled!

and yes orachel. we have 3 new variable ordered that we tested and liked but when we recieve the main order we will test them to make sure they are proper if not they will go back.

Ok, cats out the bag. You just said 3 VVs that u are working on, I saw pics of the Provari look a like and the one that come in the different colors. Where is some teaser pics of the 3rd? You should know by now you can't put info out like that with out throwing us some teaser pics. What cha tryin to do? Start a riot?

I was about to pull the trigger on a provari....now i have to wait some more....(i would rather buy from gv)
