throat
been smoking the mini royal about 3 months now and don't have a sore throat, but am a bit raspy at the end of the day, but not sore. Suspect it is the drying out thing I read from other posts. I drink a LOT of water, alway have.

do carts carry
PG as well? or some other type of juice?
I noticed that I get a sore throat with the liquid I mix myself with Lorann's. I've never gotten one with premixed ejiuce from anyone and I've tried a lot of them - nobacco, TW, janty, etc.
The cinnamon roll lorann's is very harsh. Maybe I used too much.

Sore throat, constriction and swollen lymph glands are the biggest problems for me. I've done a lot of research on the ingredients. I know they are safe, but they cause allergic reactions and irritation. This is typical of humectants, and both PG and VG are humectants. There are some lucky people out there who have no allergic reaction, but I'm not one of them. I have a reaction to both PG and VG, but VG causes greater irritation.
As I said, I know the ingredients are safe, but it is still not good to frequently stimulate allergic reactions. That is my only concern. Vaping irritates my upper respiratory system, but not my lungs. My lungs are getting more and more healthy while I deal with problems in my throat. I know for certain that the effects are caused by vaping because I've gone on and off the juice several times to observe the differences.
Unlike sore throats caused by real cigarettes, recovery is fast. I think that is because cigarettes cause real tissue damage, not just irritation.
Irritation is an individual thing. I don't think that there is one recipe that is going to work for everyone. I am constantly experimenting different proportions of PG, VG and water to find the one that causes the least irritation. I am convinced that the reason real cigarettes are tolerated so well by so many people is that the smoke contains chemicals that eases pain and irritation.

I'm happy to have found this thread. After vaping for two months now, without resorting to the occasional analog as others seem compelled to do, I've been somewhat concerned about the throat irritation and voice raspiness I've experienced off and on. It's encouraging to learn that these are side effects of vaping that others are also dealing with, and that the consensus is it's no big deal.

The only times I have had a reaction (to anything e-cig realated) has been when using JC Vanilla Ice Cream and anything I put Lorann's in. With both I get a scratchy sore throat not like strep or anything that feels like its in your glands, but a superficial scratchy sore throat and I experience immediate chest congestion/inflammation. Like I am having an asthma attack. While smoking I used to use a Albuterol inhaler 3 - 6 times a day. I haven't had to use my inhaler since I quit smoking, except for when I use JC Vanilla Ice Cream and the Lorann's.
I purchased the sample pack from JC's and all of the other flavors work fine for me.
I am sure this is a somewhat unique allergy and I have no clue why its ALL of the Lorann's flavors (clear, colored, whatever) and I have tried about 12 different flavors. It's a pretty mild reaction. I don't know if it could turn into a severe reaction, because I stopped using both (flavoring and juice). I tried a flavor a day (Lorann's), once a day, and it happened with every flavor, everytime. I made DIY liquids with it, and added it to already flavored liquids, same result each time. I have had no other problems with other flavored liquids from multilple suppliers (I am a e-cig shopaholic on a quest for the perfect flavor).
I wish I knew what it was, cause some of Walrus' flavors sound awesome, but for now I am forced to stick with commercial juices. Thank goodness there are a lot of good ones out there.
PS - Sometimes I think some people's sore throat may come from sucking too hard on their PVs. There is a bit of a learning curve to getting the right drag down.

Hey Steve, didn't you just move across the country? Are you sure you don't have some type of pollen allergy going on? It's that time of the year and maybe it is something you weren't exposed to in California. Just a thought.

It's good to hear about this as was complaining of the same symptoms -slight sore throat but what really freaked me out was this feeling of an asthma attack !
It happened especially with a new mix that was supposed to be like Riskee (caramel, pecan & Marshmellow) !
I've since stopped all Lorann mixes , vaping only my diluted commercial flavor (Marlboro) and all is back to normal again!

Did anyone that shows to be allergic to LorAnn's try another brand/kind, like for instance Bickford or any of the other DIY flavor-choices? I think it might be good to know if it's about all or most of flavors from anywhere; or specifically one brand (LorAnn's in the above cases).

Because I know that this is my issue and not very widespread, I am not going to mention any names but I have also tried flavor liquids that are made to be added to flavorless nic juice. Same reaction to that.
I haven't tried Bickford's and probably won't. The premixed "commerical" juices are working for me.
I want to reiterate, that this is my allergy and doesn't seem to be a widespread problem. Lorann's is very high quality IMO and I have used their flavors many times before, for baking, with great success.
I wanted to get my situation out there, in case others were having similar problems.
