I've been vaping since 12/05 and no sore throat at all. Have not wanted an analog since day 3. Never thought I could do it. Have smoked 1.5 to 2 packs a day for 30 years. PG!

i had a horrible time keeping my throat "moist" and feeling good the first few weeks. it was like trying to swallow luffa balls that were on fire. they just wouldn't go down.
i switched to VG and the situation resolved itself. i've only been vaping for 2 months.
i drink at least 2 liters of water each day but most days it's more like 3.
BUT i also drink at least 2 shots of espresso in the early morning hours to get going and a few more times throughout the day. plus there are the other water stealing fluids that i drink on several nights of the week which, of course are when i also vape more..or non-stop to be more realistic

now i'm trying to get rid of the chest congestion that i have picked up along the way! maybe from vaping...maybe from quitting the analogs...

I get a bit of a dry mouth and throat but not sore - though my tongue isn't so 'coated' now (as it was when smoking 1-2 packs a day) it can sometimes feel a little sore in places ( have to say tho, Ive been brushing it when i do my teeth to speed up the 'cleaning' process - i think Ill stop doing that now lol).
I'd say your chest congestion is likely the mucus thining as the little hairs grow back inside your lungs and throat and can finally shift it out by coughing and throat clearing. This is VERY common after giving up smoking (as my brother tells me same happened to him when he gave up and he has NEVER used a PV), and passes - though it can take some time to pass if you smoked a long time. He also said you should get your chest examined as its easy to pick up chest infections after giving up smoking (because everything is moving around nicely in there and any trapped nasties can suddenly come out) so you need to eliminate that.

I do get a sore throat as well.

As far as smoking vs vaping, I agree with a lot of the comments. I think the effect of breathing smoke itself, and perhaps other carinogenic material, is the light headedness i got when i first started smoking.

I got hooked from the light headed/buzzed feeling, but I kept smoking in order to feel "normal" once I was hooked.

The ecig lets me get by with the normal feeling, but doesnt give me the other crap/lack of oxygen for that special smoking feeling :P

I just started vaping about 4 days ago and I've experienced dry mouth for sure but I keep hydrated and brush those teeth (Per Reading info from this site). No sore throat but maybe mild irritation, my sinuses appear to be draining and did notice some Gunk come out after day 2. ZERO analogs since starting! Could be the PG causing the sore throat, I did order a couple of VG carts just to see the diff between PG/VG. I got all my gear from v4l..

I started vaping several weeks ago and recently got a sore throat. I think it might be because I'm smoking a different e-cig or more likely because I started refilling with nicotine liquid. The material in the cartridge looks like it might need to be changed. I have some nicotine gum on hand so I'm using that until the sore throat goes away.
