OK...got a friend who is a pack a day smoker. He was very interested in vaping and decided to talk to his doc about it. And oddly enough, his doctor advised him NOT to start vaping...either quit all together, or keep with analogs. I dont know the details of my friends health concerns. He mentioned that even as little as 5 minutes in a steam sauna will cause him to develope pneumonia. This, I am assuming, is due to his asthma. Does anyone who has asthma vape? What are your experiences with it?

I have had asthma & COPD for over 30 years. I started to vape 5 months ago & after 30 days I was able to stop ALL my related meds. I have seen my pulmonologist as well as my primary care Dr. & the both highly approved of my switching to vaping. They both requested info on where they could send their other smoking patients & my pulmonologist had me do a demo for his office staff so they would be more informed. Your friend may have another condition & I would suggest they check with another Dr. before starting to vape.

You wrote : ""5 minutes in a steam sauna will cause him to develope pneumonia."" Yep I have had asthma - occasionally, but was under control. My doc has advised me to stop using relievers now, and then phase out preventers now that I vape. However, what you say above does NOT sound like asthma at all. Needs double checking by the docs. Maybe vapour/steam is just always bad for your friend. ![]() Best of luck.

Well - let me say that I have allergy related asthma, have never even smoked one cigarettes, sell e-cigs, and thus have to test product constantly. Incidentally, I have not become addicted to nicotine, but I have to say, my lungs are crappy, and even vaping irritates them (though not even close to what 2nd hand smoke does to my lungs)

I've got COPD, I've been vaping for about 10 weeks, my breathing hasn't improved any, in fact it's got worse the last week. I've been pretty hoarse at times during that spell (using pg so possibly allergic) so I'm waiting for a delivery of vg juice to see if that makes any difference.

Update...My buddy decided to get a second opinion from a pulmonologist. The advice given was simple... "try if for a day or 2 and see how it goes". So i will give him my spare ecig to try.

PUff, pg is a drying agent. Everyone has been complaining about drying out from using it. It's used in medications for asthma. He may do alright. I think he needs a new Doctor period.

I have asthma...I no longer need a shot of my inhaler when I wake up. This is after 2 days of vaping. I also have noticed an extremely large increase in stamina on the Moto-x track and less sensitivity to exercise induced attacks. So far I am seeing nothing but good things!
