    I don't get colds often...

However... most colds start in the ear and eyes... so unless you are sucking these through your ear... At the most, you are just not infecting anyone when you coughing on them.

You normally get colds when someone coughs on something, and you touch it, then rub your eyes, or attempt to clean your ear with a virus-coated finger. The mist from a cough will also gather in your tears as you walk through the viral-mist. (That leads to your ears, where the cold grows by incubation. You feel it in your chest because that is the byproduct of the cold being ejected through respiration and over-active mucus creation. Also ejected through the nose, for the same reasons. That is why they make doctors wear masks, so they don't pass the viral mucus vapor onto your open wounds, eyes, and ears. Also common from chapped lips, which are gateways to direct blood exposure. Thus more colds in the winter/dry seasons.)

I don't believe I have ever heard of people inhaling viruses, and getting infected. The lungs have a coating of digestive mucus that is used to eject fluids and viral contaminants. Unless you had an infection in your lungs. (An open wound, directly exposed to blood.)

I know you CAN get colds by inhaling... but that is not the common point of entry. It is difficult to get a cold that way. (That is why masks don't protect YOU from colds. Like 2% for you 98% for others. They stop the spread of viruses. It is a play on words.)

I haven't noticed any change in flu frequency, but my pig seems to be a little under the weather lately.

That would be a nice side-benefit indeed, but for the sake of all that's holy, please don't go around repeating it. It's going to be just another opportunity for the FDA to try to step in and regulate it as an unapproved cold/flu remedy.

Sure but then technically you dont have a cold anymore. And the thread was about PG helping with a viral infection.
My wife gets sinus infections often from a cold, but as someone else already mentioned, sucking some vapor down the lungs wouldnt help with that.

But vaping when sick feels much better compared to smoking analogs.

    Question possible byproduct

It could simply be possible that while smoking analogs, we have had to go outside, thus exposing ourselves much more to the outside elements. With e-cigs, I can stay in my comfy house (albeit motel room right now) and not have to go outside everytime the craving hits me.

in about a month of almost exclusive vaping (maybe 5 analog cigs total in week 1 and 2) i noticed a significant increase in the gunk i was coughing up for the first couple weeks (maybe my lungs cleaning themselves??)... now it is smooth sailing... i rarely ever cough up tar and when i do it is probably from my use of marijuanna and not anything to do with vaping... although i have had my doctor tell me that when quitting it is common to notice an increase in phlegm for a couple weeks... i think he said it had something to do with cilia (little hairs in your lungs) regenerating?? lots of puzzled faces for me in the health forum!!

    PEACE

The only way i could see there being any increase in cold/flu is if you share your ecig..... and Filters.

I have been vaping for as long as my counter says and I have had 2 clods in the past week. Crazy... I don't think it is related though

If you are referring to the 1940's study printed in Time Magazine they found that PG may have a protective effect against the transmission of influenza VIRUS.
