I know vitamin C is helpful. Any reason to be worried about vaping in this regard?

I have Glaucoma and my last visit was only a week or so into vaping, and my pressure was the same. I see the doc again in July, so I can report back then. Have you been told that it would increase the pressure?

Haven't seen my eye doctor since I started e-cigs - he has told me that smoking increases eye pressure on many people, anxious to see if quitting the actual analogs and switching to the e-cig has had any impact on my glaucoma - my eye pressure has been under control, slightly high but not a problem (the doctor says) - just wondering about others with glaucoma who might have seen their doctor since they switched to e-cigs - could be interesting.

I have a friend in Canada who wants to try vaping as he has smoked for too long and has glaucoma. He finds it strange that he can legally smoke ........ to help with his glaucoma but vaping products are banned.

I may have given the wrong impression on my post - I have not seen my eye doctor (specialist) since I started e-cigs. I meant to say that at the time of my last visit I was still smoking analogs and my eye pressure was a little high, but doctor said it was alright - I have not seen the eye doctor since I switched to e-cig and anxious to see if my eye pressure has remained the same, gotten higher, gotten lower. Afraid I might have given the impression that e-cigs had lowered my eye pressure and I don't know yet what it is doing in that regard - just wanted to see if others have had checkups since they started e-cigs and if the eye pressure changed in any way.

I'll let you know in July when I have a check. I've had high pressure for years and finally got Glaucoma last year. Do you know you should always try to go in for checks at the same time of the day for the best accuracy? Something I have learned along the way.

I just saw my eye doc this week, and my pressure has remained the same since switching to ecigs in Jan 09, so there was no change for me at all from switching from analogs to ecigs.

Hi, Darlene. I have what used to be called low-pressure glaucoma (I think they call it primary normal tension now?) which basically means that my optic nerve isn't under pressure, I was just born with a thin one. (It's genetic; my grandmother has it and my great-great grandfather was blind when he died.) My pressure is actually low normal, even with nicotine, but my optic nerve is wearing away. (I also have mismatched vision, so at high risk for detaching retinae... and I'm allergic to cannibis and derived medications, so there's a good chance I'll be blind before my nieces (1 year and Kindergarten) graduate from college).

I have an opthamologist appointment in two weeks, and I plan to have a good long chat about the ecig with him. I'll report his opinion, but realize my case might not apply.
