PG killed rhinoviruses, the little devils behind the common cold. Pneumonia? Yes. Tuberculosis? Yes. A cold? No mention so it probably has no effect.
Take two aspirin and post me in the morning.
Besides, I would expect it to act against airborn virii and bacteria, but colds and flus are usually transmitted by contact, or getting coughed or sneezed on.

Ugh. Don't make me laugh. It hurts.
Voice is teetering on almost gone. Pretty dangerous in the business I'm in.
I do NOT recommend using your e-cig with a chest cold at all. It hurts 100 times worse. A dry cough is even dryer and the expectorant takes longer to work. I'm using nic gum right now...put my e-cig down for a few days to get through this. The expectorant is starting to work now I think.

Reason: I got snot in my head and wasn't done whining.
I'm in the "no drama zone". Save it for the soaps.

Defatting
Defatting as a known health effect? Cool.... Haven't noticed any defatting yet though.

Propylene Glycol A cosmetic form of mineral oil found in automatic brake and hydraulic fluid and industrial antifreeze. In the skin and hair, propylene glycol works as a humescent, which causes retention of moisture content of skin or cosmetic products by preventing the escape of moisture or water. The Material Safety Data Sheet warns users to avoid skin contact with propylene glycol as this strong skin irritant can cause liver abnormalities and kidney damage.
Known health effects.
Eye irritation, skin irritation, skin drying, defatting. Ingestion has serious health effects similar to above.

I love it! I was wondering if I could attribute my absolute lack of sickness this winter to the fact I'm not smoking as many analogues now, however it seems that the PG may be helping too. All I know for sure is, since I started e-smoking, I haven't had one cold, flu or chest infection. Prior to that, I had constant respiratory issues the whole time.

I posted this on another thread think it belongs here: I believe this about the germ killing. Was playing poker tonite and lots of the smokers were coughing and sniffing. 2 of them have their yearly bronchitis that takes weeks to totally get rid of. Last year I was hacking and sniffing along with them, not this year (quit analog cigs 4/08). No sinus infections, coughs or sniffles. I will still get my Flu shot, but feeling great thru this seasonal change over.

The 1942 Study showed the inFluenza virus was infective to a group of mice where Propylene Glycol was present in the atmosphere. It stands to reason then that unless you had PG in your lungs at the moment of exposure, you were just as susceptible to the Flu virus as a non PG smoker. Next time the Flu hits my house, Im going to personally sterilize every room in the house with my 901
.
Because e-smokers help people.....

So the subject, is it a germ killing vapor? Maybe...probably not. Just answered that two posts back. Not the cold or flu germ for sure. My husband was eat up with it last week. Now, I've got the cold from hell. My chest hurts so bad I can't even vape right now. There was no prevention there. Just a dryer throat to add to the germ I got. Vaping irritates it more. So I'll be chewing nicotine gum til this thing goes away.
And germs that cause bad breath? Don't kill those either. I just woke up and killed the plants.
It's a nice thought here, but I think this is another one to cross off our lists.

ive been e smoking for a month and a week now, and through out the whole period my nose has been slightly blocked and it just isn't going away. I would consider myself quite athletic and healthy...any explanations?

me too, but I think this is a symptom of nicotine overdose, along with feeling dizzy and slightly nauseous although all symptoms aren't necessarily going to be present at once.
I know I have more chance of getting the heartburn symptom if I have had some of the liquid come up from the mouthpiece onto my mouth/tongue... and thus put it down to nic overdose... especially as its just a more severe for of heartburn than when I have smoked the occasional fag using patches or inhalator etc
p.s. as an aside, anyone able to provide me with a link where all the discussion regarding the problems associated with inhaling pg are kept please?

Could be allergic to PG. Many with a PG allergy are using VG.
