Damascenone - FDA approved for use in cigarettes. It's a flavor enhancer

α-Ionone - combustible according to Merck's SDS. It seems to be a flavor/aroma enhancer.

Linalool - this one's interesting. FDA approved for limited use in food. On the other hand, animal studies show brain and nervous system effects at moderate doses. The Int'l Fragrance Assoc. seems to set restrictions based on purity.

Inositol - okay, I'm stumped. Seems to be a supplement for anxiety. Not to be taken if you have any kind of liver or kidney disease, and can aggravate bipolar disorders. Interacts with valium and lithum. Not tested for safety if pregnant or breast feeding. I don't see anything that would account for it being in eliquid.

Inositol in e-liquid? It kinda makes sense to me- What do(did) you do when you were angry? Smoke? Help calm you down a bit? Maybe this is some kind of technique to get people to like their liquid better, because it would have a "calming" effect.

Maybe, but this combo bothers me, all in all. I'm guessing the α-Ionone is what makes it work with the atty, and I don't think the Damascenone bothers me, but I wouldn't be comfortable with the other 2 ingredients.

I'm probably stating the obvious, but the flavourings ingredient would worry me even more than the other stuff - that could be anything

    Default Information

Inositol, unofficially referred to as "vitamin B 8," is present in all animal tissues, with the highest levels in the heart and brain. It is part of the membranes (outer coverings) of all cells, and plays a role in helping the liver process fats as well as contributing to the function of muscles and nerves.

Inositol may also be involved in depression. People who are depressed may have lower than normal levels of inositol in their spinal fluid. In addition, inositol participates in the action of serotonin, a neurotransmitter known to be a factor in depression. (Neurotransmitters are chemicals that transmit messages between nerve cells.) For these two reasons, inositol has been proposed as a treatment for depression, and preliminary evidence suggests that it may be helpful.

Inositol has also been tried for other psychological and nerve-related conditions.

    Sources

Inositol is not known to be an essential nutrient. However, nuts, seeds, beans, whole grains, cantaloupe, and citrus fruits supply a substance called phytic acid (inositol hexaphosphate, or IP6), which releases inositol when acted on by bacteria in the digestive tract. The typical American diet provides an estimated 1,000 mg daily.

Damascenones are a series of closely related chemical compounds that are components of a variety of essential oils. The damascenones belong to a family of chemicals known as rose ketones, which also includes damascones and ionones.

Linalool. No safety concern at current levels of intake when used as a flavouring agent. The 1979 group ADI of 0-0.5 mg/kg bw for citral, geranyl acetate, citronellol, linalool, and linalyl acetate, expressed as citral, was maintained at the fifty-first (TRS 891/90, 1998) and sixty-first (TRS for JECFA 61 in press) meetings.

Would have posted the full links but I can't yet.

I prefer to get vitamins from my fruits and veggies, not an e-cig. I wish they could just keep it simple.

By the way, I didn't see anything anywhere that said Inositol interacts with valium or lithium. Benzos are an incredibly common drug used for anxiety and if this is true that is not good at all. Can you provide a link to your source?

Now I know why it tastes like perfume to me. Before you know it some suppliers will be adding 4000 chemicals to nicquid.
