Default Back Pain

Well, it was fun while it lasted, but I am giving up my e-cigs. Since I started vaping I have developed severe lower back pain. I just realized the connection between nicotine and back pain. I was vaping low nicotine juice because it helps me with anxiety and stress, but a few weeks in I started waking up at night from severe lower back pain. I read up on the effects of nicotine and now believe that this is the cause. I have enjoyed getting to read about everyone's favorite devices and such. I am happy that so many smokers have quit tobacco! Good luck to you all.

Were you not smoking analogues before you moved over to e-cigs?

When you stop nicotine, various types of pain subside, as you get more blood everywhere and the healing processes are not supressed by vasoconstricted blood vessels. But I felt so miserable it took almost a month before I realised the pain was gone...

I had no idea nicotine could cause this type of problem. I think we get much more nicotine when vaping than we know. I was using the lowest strength juice, but it is still much more than when smoking a cigarette I think. Anyhow, the pain is causing me stress, so it sort of defeats the purpose for me. I was not smoking cigs when I began vaping. I missed smoking, but not tobacco, so when I heard about vaping I wanted to try it. I did enjoy it while it lasted.

If you were not a user before I do not think nicotine will be a real help agaist stress and/or anxiety. I mean, it is a stimulant. Just the opposite to what one really needs when stressed or anxious. Anyway, if you were/are not addicted, I strongly believe you should just try different ways of dealing with these things. In my addict´s opinion nicotine in any form is far too dangerous to try and use if you do not have to.

Elphaba, thanks for clarifying... and best of luck!

Just one point before you leave us, if you are ever tempted to go back to cigarettes, you could consider trying a 0mg nic liquid to give you the 'smoking' sensation without the nicotine.... better than going back to analogues (as I say, just in case you are ever tempted to 'fall off the wagon', so to speak). The hand-to-mouth action, flavour, and appearance of smoke might be enough to do the trick

I agree with Angela, try 0mg juice if you ever decide to use e-cigs instead of regular cigs again.

Best wishes to you.

If you don't mind, could you please come back to let us know if your back pain goes away after you stop vaping?

Yes, I will. And to those who responded to my post, thank you for your concern. I will never smoke a cigarette again. I would vape, if I was missing nicotine.

I know that nicotine is a stimulant, but for me it has always had the opposite effect. I smoked for 20 years and then quit cold turkey. I have been having some issues lately and the doc wants me to take anti-anxiety meds. I don't want to do that. Too many side effects and too many unknowns. So, I thought I would try vaping, and it did help me relax. I may try 0 nic juice and see if I can trick my mind into thinking it's the real thing!

Have you already stopped vaping? I would really like to know if people suffer withdrawal when they return to nicotine in other form than smoking and then quit again. I mean it would be heaven to be able to have a miligram or two once in a while and not suffer the quit again.
